@Esposch Or someone like me who spends a lot of nights in a motel and is tired of psp and it's games. Plus, I have fairly big hands. With the right key layout, I could hold this like a psp. And Windows? Can you say emulators? I'll be interested until I atleast see a pricing structure. I'm betting there will be several models to choose from.
But, I see your points. I wanna see what hardware is upgradeable.
@wolf4537 I'm kinda with you, but with some reservations. I don't understand how they can sue somebody with no proof of piracy. The machine is just that, and should be treated as a car or a stereo. If I buy a new car I can do after-market work to it to make it do whatever I want it to do. As long as I'm not doing anything illegal with it, then I'll be fine. It's not like Chevy will come after me for making it so that my car can fit a Hemi in it. Plus, if I do something illegal with the car, the police come after me, not the company that made the car.
If they want to reject my PSN services for modding my system, fine. But these laws are lost on me, I guess. Don't get me wrong. I do not condone piracy of games, but changing the machine if you want to should not be something that can get you sued.
I spend a lot of money on PSN, so don't get me wrong. I'm not against the conveniences of digital. However, I also know that eventually I will not have access to any of the products I've bought off of it. I really believe that if, say, Atari had been all digital, at some point they would have shut down all of the servers that you would get the games from.
It's something I'm really curious about with the next generation of consoles. Will the PS4 be backward compatible with PS3 PSN games I have bought? What about PS5? Even if I keep a spare PS3 sitting around, won't Sony one day say "Sorry, it's no longer cost effective for us to run these servers. We're pulling the plug." And "POOF" it's all gone.
I know that this will come to pass, yet I don't mind so much when it's only a $10-15 investment. But if EA thinks I'm going to start paying $60 for every full downloadable game over buying the disc, they're way wrong.
