Pachter: Xbox 360 outsold PS3 two-to-one in December; Nintendo reveals numbers
Jan 11th 2011 12:55AM (Joystiq)The average consumer doesn't need to know because it translated into games, faster, but it's still valid in the discussion.
You just want to call them idiot consumers because they're not getting what YOU think they should get. You're a fool if you think most people are stumbling into 360 ownership. They don't care about a $50 blu-ray player (which is kinda outdated now anyway), that cpu/gpu is marginally faster or that their lesser online service is free. They're getting what their friends or family have because it's a great system. It has great games, great online features, great hardware. Everything else is incidental, as it should be.
Pachter: Xbox 360 outsold PS3 two-to-one in December; Nintendo reveals numbers
Jan 11th 2011 12:23AM (Joystiq)your opinion. The average consumer see's a new device, shiny, black, great hardware, tons of games, it's cheap. It has this new thing called kinect, lots of online features and the PS3 simply doesn't do anything to separate itself from the 360. Microsoft has been the leader in nearly ever aspect this generation. From dictating how you work with developers, the tools you give them, to pushing the online features, XBLA, everything. Their only two mistakes have been the hardware issues and HD-DVD. Their response to the hardware issues were top notch for consumer electronics and HD-DVD didn't really hurt them.
