CDMA iPhone in engineering tests, may arrive in January, says John Gruber

@dorothymantooth

Why wouldn't it make sense?? It would be like the first iPhone on edge and then the next one on 3G. Same thing would be on either Sprint/VZW launching it on only 3G and then release a LTE/WiMax version.

RIM's 9.7-inch Blackpad rumored for November launch -- yes, Blackpad

Jul 30th 2010 12:56PM (Engadget)
Their new slogan would be "When you go black....you can't go back"

On the other note....having a BB OS6 on a "blackpad" would suck so bad!

Verizon posts $198m net loss, picks up healthy amount of new wireless subs

Jul 23rd 2010 2:25PM (Engadget)
@Jdubcsu

Like I said, only difference right now is that you don't get unlimited data with AT&T by just saving $5/month.

VZW: $59.99 for 450min, unlimited text and free nights/weekends + $30 Unlimited Data on smartphones.

AT&T: $39.99 450min Rollover with Nights&Weekends + $20 Unlimited text + $25 for 2GB Data.

You ain't saving much with AT&T since for $5 less you don't get unlimited data. Now VZW will switch to same pricing on data soon but only people who aren't heavy data users can save some money on AT&T with their $15/200MB data plan.

@Prevacator

Verizon lost the most money due to the layoffs on the Verizon Communications side and not on the wireless side.

mmmm if you have done your homework, you would see that VZW and AT&T prices mirror each other. Only difference right now is that you don't get unlimited data on AT&T for smartphones.

Coulomb gets in an Empire State of mind, switches on NYC's first public EV charging station

Jul 16th 2010 10:59AM (Engadget)
@MagnetMan

ConEd here in NYC is crying for customers to stop using so much electricity or else their old installations where they provide electricity to neighborhoods will blow up. If ConEd can't even supply demand on electricity because is reaching at max capacity in summer.... what makes you think they will be able to support charging thousands of cars?

Yes, it might be cheaper but in areas not so good, these stations will be vandalized and cost of maintenance/replacement will be higher in the long run.

This system might sound good but it does not work for millions of people in NYC that park on the streets when they get home because for sure there won't be tons of these charging stations around side streets of apartments.

Wait....so besides having to deal with the outrageous price tag of these plug in vehicles. We have to pay for these charging stations, meters and deal with the 10,000 parking signs on NYC streets???

No, thanks. I'll stick to gas cars.

BlackBerry Protect protects (you guessed it) your BlackBerry

@Moises1212

Try holding it from the right hand and tell me if it rocks. I feel bad for you since you paid so much for a defective product.
