14-year-old breaks GHIII 'Fire and Flames' record, guitars
Feb 7th 2009 9:07PM (Joystiq)I also don't understand some people hate of these games. They are fun, innovative (and yes I am well versed in the history of the music videogame genre) and at the higher difficulty levels take some prodigeous skill. Some people act like they are a blight on the landscape of gaming and I don't understand it.
On a side note I have a friend who has no fingers beyond the second knuckle of his hands and can play songs on expert w/his back to the screen. Amazing.
Eurogamer notes racism in its Resident Evil 5 hands-on
Feb 6th 2009 12:07AM (Joystiq)Racism will never disappear, it is human nature to have a natural predujice towards anything or anyone who is different from ourselves; and it applies to people of any race, religion or creed. The most important thing, in my opinion, is to acknowledge it when it occurs and examine it on a personal level.
To me the idea that 'we are all the same' is absurd. We are not all the same. White people, Black people, Indian people, Arabs, Hispanics, Eskimos, whatever background you can think of all have different histories, different cultural characteristics, different perspectives.
We are not all the same. The thing is the celebrate those differences - with curiosity, humilty and acceptance. This isn't just a patchwork nation it is a patchwork world and the sooner we accept that and embrace it the sooner the human race can move on to bigger and better things.
I don't think for one second that there was a racist intent on the part of the developers of RE5. I understand that it can be inferred, I think the question is what does that really say?

Feb 4th 2009 4:53PM (Joystiq)I really applaud EA for Mirror's Edge - bold artstyle and unique game mechanics and I'd love to see a sequel to iron out the flaws and flesh out the gameplay.

Feb 4th 2009 4:41PM (Joystiq)I'd really like a sequel to Heavenly Sword too but I don't think they are doing one (read that somewhere a while back)
Can't wait for this game.
Again: DO THE CROSSOVER - Nathan meets Lara = awesomeness. Wishful thinking but how great would it be to see those two characters together?
Joystiq interview: Talking Uncharted 2 with Naughty Dog's Evan Wells
Feb 4th 2009 4:34PM (Joystiq)The expressiveness in Uncharted is one of the most memorable things about it. Whenever the game is mentioned I picture a scene early on where Nathan says something to Elena and he's got one eyebrow up and a wry smile on his face as he makes some smart alek comment.
My goodness is this game going to be good - they need a better boss fight at the end tho...

I now have to play the original again in between planets of Mass Effect.
That's it! Shepard finds a mass effect relay that functions as a time travel device, he goes back to the past, meets Nathan, who's already met Lara Croft and...and...
Ok, I'm stupid...not had coffee yet....
(That'd be so awesome tho.....)
