'Game Award of 2011' isn't GOTY, it's just a category sponsored by a UK games retailer called Game. Or GAME if correctly capitalised.

The category equivalent of GOTY is 'Best Game' which is chosen, like the rest of them, by the Academy.

I suspect that if this is ever going to happen, it's going to be with funding from multiple smaller backers buying into a share of the revenue, rather than with a single mad multimillionaire publisher willing to make the whole risk on his own.

We need two or three more insane videogame-loving millionaire investers, stat.

HMV is about to go bankrupt anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about it's stance on games retail.

@sammo21 I don't think Sega have actually ever made any money out of Shenmue. In fact, if I recall, they've made nothing but massive loss after massive loss out of the series.
