Super Mario 3D Land breaks 5 million sold, Skyward Sword at 3.4 million
Jan 29th 2012 10:11AM (Joystiq)It's usual in the Zelda fandom (of wich I'm part, only I haven't been able to play the game yet because the disc reader on my wii died and I have to replace it) to hate new games.
For example the fandom hated Wind Waker until Twilight Princess came around, then Wind Waker was awesome game and Twilight Princess sucked (indeed it was worse than Wind Waker though), TP hate has been decreasing recently.
Why Final Fantasy XIII just didn't work
Jan 13th 2012 11:15PM (Joystiq)Well, my first and favorite is V, it has easily one of the best level up systems, good music and decent story (not complex, but endearing characters).
Other good ones are IV and VI. VI and below are all actually good, I don't find VII as good as it is hyped, VIII is bad and IX is kind of nice if you like the old ones.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword review: Such great heights
Nov 13th 2011 12:21AM (Joystiq)If motion controls add so much to a game, why would you want to play it without motion controls? Because you have a bias against motion controls? Stop being so close-minded. Motion controls work as well as normal controls, it just depends on the game, and this game seems to do it great.
Sony predicting another year of losses, despite growing games sales
Nov 2nd 2011 2:57PM (Joystiq)Obviously it's more dangerous for Nintendo, but Sony could still close their gaming department if they wanted.
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend reaches out to North America
Oct 12th 2011 5:50PM (Joystiq)CS was a true squel, people that think otherwise might be too used to getting things as DLC, I still remember all those SFII versions.
Valkyria Chronicles 3 not planned for North America, Europe
Oct 12th 2011 5:26PM (Joystiq)The problem isn't low sales, the problem is that they have too high expectations and don't know who buys these games, take Atlus, XSEED or Aksys, they know the market they release their games for, and they leave fans happy. The low PSP sales in the west is no excuse either (and if you release a game for a console with low sales, you can expect it to sell less than in other consoles), these same companies keep releasing PSP games and you don't see them complaining.
Instead Sega goes the way of Namco, wich is stupid.
Reggie: Wii U's online functionality will be 'flexible' to publishers
Jul 6th 2011 3:05PM (Joystiq)If they're going to do something, at least make it free (or like PSN with free features and premium ones, just don't make playing online a premium feature like MS did).
Diamonds are forever, and so are Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D save files
Jul 3rd 2011 11:27PM (Joystiq)For shame Capcom.
Xenoblade dev Monolithsoft recruiting for Wii U game
Jun 26th 2011 6:00PM (Joystiq)Baten Kaitos were some of the best jrpgs of last gen.
I wish that they bring the Last Story and Xenoblade, I already had to play Soma Bringer with a translation patch (and it's great), but doing those patches for wii games is much harder.
Monolith does great games, so I was (and still am) hyped for Xenoblade, while I already lost the hopes for The Last Story (Sakaguchi making a game should be taken more seriously, Nintendo!).
E3 2011 Prediction Bingo: Nintendo
Jun 2nd 2011 8:45PM (Joystiq)Seriously, Nintendo doesn't like that.
