The streaming feature through the web allows access to every station - I quite like it and definitely think it's worth the $2.99 service fee (which requires an already existing subscription to other services). You can get internet only access... but I think it's closer to $10 a month.
There is a minimal version of the service that isn't as great of quality... and maybe doesn't offer full access to content... and I believe is free to subscribers. It sounds like the iPhone service is targeted only at the tier of "premium" subscribers who pay $3 extra for it - which would make sense.
EQ2 is actually a really great game as they have done really wonderful things with the expansion packs. It is really the best PvE MMO out there and really embodies the overperforming and underappreciated "Underdog" role that occurs when certain other software became larger than life.
That "other" unnamed software is a great product nonetheless but I think alot of people, especially people who are looking for less focus on PvP, would much prefer EQ2 if they weren't to jaded to give it a shot in it's current state.
Wow joystiq. Talk about over playing your hand. You guys are really being douchebags lately.
Anyone use to blogging takes comments with a grain of salt. Joystiq will always recieve negative criticism proportional to the amount of fame it has recieved.
Joystiq has merely proved it can't correctly handle it's own internet fame.
You should probably worry about the fact that competing blogs are making joystiq look lazy lately instead of flaming your commenters which you can't control. I've been seriously disappointed with your content in the last couple months.
I was thrilled when I could read joystiq instead of something like IGN, but geez I didn't expect the time to be approaching so rapidly to move on to yet another source so quickly. It's getting close though.

PS I don't work at IGN or any editorial/news site.
I played both WoW and EQ2 both for about 2 months seperately. I honestly felt EQ2 was a better product.
I felt like WoW was to easy, had a shallow character design system, and had absolutely no end game.
EQ2 on the other hand had no pvp at the time, wasn't designed with enough content for solo players, and had a ridiculous trade skill system.
In the end, I felt I had more fun in EQ2.
Regardless, I think this article is harmful to the mmo industry. It reinforces the mentality of slamming a product because it's not the market leader, when they are only trying to get more people interested.
Everquest 2 may not be some players choice, but I think it would be silly to say it's bad. It's not SWG after all.
Regardless I firmly believe if you dedicate your life to one mmo(or just game) like so many players do, this can cause an adverse effect on video game criticism that is equivalent to the effect of eating the same food every day has on your diet.
