I love this idea. Yes, they are taking the engine and repackaging it to appeal to kids, but doesn't that make sense? How many parents out there bought the Naked Brothers Band DLC?
To me all this does it give kids a great chance to play songs. Maybe get interested in music. It gives parents a chance to play with their kids and spend time with them (My parents would try to play Mario Kart with me. That was pretty much the only thing we had a common interest in.) It gives parents a good chance to bond with their kids.
As far as I'm concerned as long as we can transfer songs one way or the other this is a welcome addition to Rock Band.

Now I can't wait for Guitar Hero: Mega Blox

I respect the beatles and everything. I acknowledge that they are great artists. But I have a feeling that most of their songs wouldn't be much fun to play. It was like Bob Dylan, he's a great musician, and the song itself was amazing. But I don't think Tangled up in Blue was that great of a party song.
I just think that everyone wants their favorite bands in Rock Band or Guitar Hero (and I assuredly do) but to me The Beatles just wont be that much fun to play. So I'm interested to see what they do for this game specially.
