Suit: Sensory Sweep owes employees over $2 million

Jan 26th 2009 2:10PM (Joystiq)
Can we all move over to kotaku so we are on the same page? Joystiq has been complete fail lately, especially in the on time dept. 90% of what joystiq posts has already been posted on every other game site days ahead of time, sometimes even up to a week. The remaining 10% is their "comiq" posts, which by the way are you guys trying to be like Midway?

Get off your asses joystiq, you used to be the go-to page involving gaming news.

Breakfast topic: Of Newbies and n00bs

Jan 22nd 2009 11:18AM (WoW)
I recently stopped playing because of this whole Noob thing. The word doesn't bother me, it is usually the people on the other end of it that do.

I had 4 level 30's (anywhere between 30 and 39) and 2 level 40s. I am a somewhat new player as I'm only about a year and half into it. Whenever I would ask for help or for any groups I would get the standard "Noob" response. Looking for an instance? Nada. Wanted to enchant, pfft. The WoW environment even after of being in it for that long is still brutal and the games ultimate downfall. Gear and lvl are everything, its worse then high school and brand names. I've paid out almost 100 dollars switching realms to "test" the waters, but no matter where I went it was just as bad. Llane being a horrible server for the Horde side of the house.

Doing about 1 instance a week it was hard for me to figure out where everything was and how it is played out. Telling people that it was only my first, second, third time running it I would get dropped from the group immediately.

Be nicer to the "young" guys, or soon it will be nothing but 80s running around.

Sony games division expects increased loss of $337 million

So Joystiq, are you going to post the article on how MS is chopping 5,000 jobs because they are getting hammered too or no? I've been waiting to see if you will for about 3 days now, nothing yet. Might want to look into that, because you seem to have enough time to post about Sony.

I think they kind of went all over the map with this car. Heavy plastics, chrome, polished chrome, polished plastic, entirely too much going on and thats just the outside. I think they dropped the ball with this design and I definitely won't be going out of my way to see one of these up close and personal.

Killzone 2 a 'masterpiece' without collector's edition

Although getting the helmet would be pretty kickass, I just want the game already! CE's are very rarely worth the extra 20+ bucks.

Home brings in $1m in virtual goods, user-generated content the 'goal'

Jan 9th 2009 12:33PM (Joystiq)
So I'm assuming everyone here who call these people "sad and pathetic" for spending 99 cents to a few bucks on virtual items, have never bought ANY DLC. I mean that would only make sense. Who would spend money, apparently only the sad and pathetic, on horse armor? Or new levels? Or new characters? For the amount of money Sony and MS pull in on DLC, there sure is a lot of "Not Me's".
