Unboxing the Batman: Arkham Asylum Collector's Edition

OMG how can you LIVE without those spare pieces of FOAM>!>!?!
SO USEFULL!

Full of foam and win and foam.

Bayonetta's Automatic mode demonstrated (with one hand)

You added an extra word there, "Devil May Clone" is sufficient. The crying comes later.

Damn, I remember when 1-hand controllers were advertised in issues of GamePro. I mean you really did not need more than three fingers to..um..grind through Dragon Warrior II. Even with DS and console games I get irked when a dev doesn't map the shoulder button to do *anything*. All I need is to mash A for the next ten minutes in this unskippable scene... no respect for a gamer's time.

No additional Battlefield 1943 content currently in development

Having more control over matches in the content we *already have* would be a nice consolation prize.

Sony: PS2 back compat not returning to PS3 (ever)

Aug 20th 2009 7:34PM (Joystiq)
Maybe in a couple of years. The PSOne catalogue hasn't even been scratched.

I mean Jesus, can't they slap the Emotion Engine on to a USB dongle and sell it as a peripheral for $69? PS2 Micro. There, even named it for ya.

Watch out for rumor stories with someone running a slow-ass PS2 emulator on Linux on a PS3.

Dante's Inferno trailer throws epic in your face

Ahh, it's just in time for Valentine's Day...

Pretty soon Dante will find out that love.. isn't quite what it's cracked up to be...

Game Informer: Xbox 360 at 54.2 percent failure rate

Aug 17th 2009 10:00PM (Joystiq)
#1: Xenon, bought off ebay from a game shop, lasted about 2 years, RRoD under the all inclusive warranty
#2: Xenon, MS sent me a replacement since they don't repair for Canada. Spring 2009 the CD drive stopped reading discs. No warranty, no error message to report. Plays XBLA fine, so I decided to give it a full paint job and tinker.
#3: Falcon, bought a new Arcade unit on sale a couple months ago for essentially $100. Local Future Shop didn't have any Jaspers.

So really, for having 3 units in my home, I've maybe spent $300 total on the box itself, and the rest is controllers and a couple HDs which still work fine. The cost versus breakage doesn't feel much different than any of my other electronics and computers, and the fun factor of the 360 is consistent. I monumentally prefer it to PC gaming.

2nd Fallout 3 DLC pack at retail Aug. 25; GOTY edition listed for Oct. 13

Aug 11th 2009 7:00PM (Joystiq)
Safe to say if they can't cram all the DLC love on the PS3 GOTY edition, there's something ghouly rotten in Megaton. I'm willing to bet *that* was the deal for exclusivity.

Get an extra $30 for your trade-ins at Amazon

Aug 11th 2009 1:05AM (Joystiq)
Gamewhatnow?

Zelda Twilight Princess Wii: Amazon: 16.50 Gamestop: 15.00 Future Shop: $37
Fallout 3 Xbox 360: Amazon 24.00 Gamestop: 22.00 Future Shop: $40

Add in New Super Mario DS for $25 and I got a cool $102 in trade last week, then proceeded to make an absolute killing on a reduced PS3 bundle.
