Um, are you serious? If I take the hard drive off the top of my 360, plug in a wired controller, and insert a memory card I can still play the latest games with beautiful graphics in HD. For $50 more than the Wii.

I personally am not concerned about the price. I prepared myself for a $250 announcement and I got one. The only thing I am concerned about is the price of the controllers, but we'll see.

And, yes, I might hate Nintendo completely come tomorrow when they announce how much everything's going to cost in the UK. But right now, I still like them. Shame about only having one colour though.

However, the Xbox 360 wasn't competing with two next-generation consoles at the same time. And they had Europe.

Ouch. I'd say that I'm disappointed that I can't get a PS3 until next year, but, well, that'd be a lie. I really don't want one.

The Wii will be the only console I buy this Christmas, that's for sure.

I'm inclined to agree. I think he was a great guy, and I watched and enjoyed his programs on occasion, but I'm really not feeling the whole "a hero has died" vibe.

To me, he's just an enthusiastic zoologist who caught a break and opened up an animal park.

What about all the people who spend their entire lives researching medical treatments and the like? Generally speaking, their deaths would be ignored by the masses.

Don't get me wrong - I think he was a neat guy - I'm just not going to go all out with the pseudo-grief because then I'd feel compelled to do that for the death of every person who dedicated their life to the good of humankind.

I agree with you there. When I saw the prices for those new games I could barely believe it! And to think you can now buy Uplink for $10.

Anyway, I'm glad to see Might & Magic will be coming to Steam. If it's anything like Episode One and SiN Emergence, it'll be cheaper for people in the UK to buy it on Steam rather than in stores, which is a huge plus in my book (I gather this is usually not the case over in the US, though).
