This is a pretty easy solution to implement. Just give your wife parental controls over your account. If you think you need more time, then you can simply talk it over with her. It puts a lot of trust in her hands, but generally she should understand that you're allowing her to limit you and shouldn't be used to club you over the head. Parental controls are pretty flexible since you can limit it by time per week, or by a strict schedule, or both. Also if she's always saying you play too much and has the weekly report to prove it, then maybe she's right.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. You stepped away because it was overwhelming you and by some miracle (no exaggeration there) it survived and prospered. If it changed a bit, maybe it's because it actually had to change and that your way wasn't the best thing for the guild. In the end you've got it pretty sweet so why worry? Want responsibility and input? You're an officer. You're also NOT the GM so if you need to step back, you've got the freedom to do so. You've also proven you can lead raids, so I think any guild would be happy to have someone on backup who can actually do that. Enjoy what you've got. I'm sure if you think about how things were at the point you took a break you'll realize that there was a lot about the position you don't miss.

There is a lull during summer, and there is a lull before the expansion. It's hitting pretty early this year, but it's hitting full force. A month or so ago there were about the usual 2-3 typical recruitment posts on my realm a week. Now the realm forums are packed with guilds recruiting.

Playing a role doesn't mean you have to speak in old English either. You can play a role and be clear at the same time without frivolous banter. True story.

You'll still see fury because I'm thinking the playstyle is still going to be quite different. I'm also guessing fury is still going to be better for AoE. If people were always worried about rolling on weapons, then you'd never see a rogue that didn't use daggers. But there are quite a few combat rogues still out there. One big problem with all this is that fury can use 2h weapons, but needs two, but arms only needs one but is basically stuck with axes (and polearms with agility) because of weapons specialization.

Personally I'm going 1h fury so I'll be in that pool of weapons. Well if fury gets improved and they add a bit of fun to it.

Hmm... Might still be worth it on a per character basis. Usually flashing for me just means a blinking icon, and I can probably live without it.

This looks almost exactly how I use power aura's currently (icons and everything), but looks easier to use. Does it support using other textures for buffs or icon animations? I'm pretty happy with power auras right now but there seems to be a slight lag between when an ability is available and when it actually shows up on my screen... which I'm not happy about.

OK, maybe this will sound stupid, but it does work. Watch people who you consider friendly (but don't talk to over vent or whatever) and more often than not you will notice that they do add smileys to text a lot. It sounds silly, but if you add an occasional well timed smiley to text you really will appear more friendly.

Yeah, and the winky require care when using. Otherwise you end up with Zaboo at your doorstep.
