Personally, I'd like to say I think Bioware changing the ending is vastly different from a novelist changing their book. On one hand is the fact that Bioware has spent the last 5 years saying (and there are plenty of verifiable quotes to back this up, but im posting this from my iphone and dont care to search) that the players are essentially co-authors.

More than that though, a novel is written by the novelist alone, with some publisher editing maybe, but it's mostly the sole creative vision of the author. I don't think that could be farther from the case with ME3. In addition to the whole fan thing, there's also the fact that it's a multi-million dollar enterprise from a huge corporation with dozens of dozens of people on staff for just this game. I don't think auteur theory ever had a chance of shining through.

All that said, it is pretty ridiculous that people actually thought this whole deal was actually a guarantee of ending change rather than a nice way to bring attention.

@Roto13 Is that why they've spent the past 5 years sayin its the fans story too?

@AnnoyedGamer Why would you have started raising money for a movement for a game that came out 3 weeks ago? Everything else you said was crazy too, dont get me wrong, but that was the most confusing

Their intentions aren't altruistic if the goal is to benefit themselves with a new ending

Im glad they did what they did. Even for the people who were doing it to raise attention rather than literally pay for an ending. Child's play, like all charity, should be about genuine altruism, not means to an end; whether that end be a new ending or something to brag about

The first page talks about the variety of free running options available to the guy, and the second page talks about walking around the city and dealing with extra bounties wherever you care

I don't get what you're trying to say. prey 2 was going to be pretty much nothing like the first one, and certainly not a corridor shooter.

Yeah! That's it exactly! It's all about trying to preserve the purity of the experience! Totally immersed in the game and not thinking about ex girlfriends or having to work tomorrow!

Part of why my backlog is so huge is because I try not to play games when I'm not totally in the mood for it. I get worried that if I'm pissed from a bad day at work or upset for some other reason I won't enjoy the game to its fullest or form an untrue opinion on it. For that same reason i can be stupidly anal about the conditions i play in. If its too hot, too cold, chairs uncomfortable or I don't have significant time to devote I just won't play it. Kind of a pain in my aas really, would be a lot easier if I weren't so neurotic.
