Great article. You pointed out quite a bit of stuff I saw but had never really noticed. I grew up playing those old SSI D&D games (and often go back to them with DosBOX). I don't remember ever beating any of them though, as I quite often got lost in the maze.

Now...can you do a piece on what happened to flight sim games and answer why LucasArts won't do a new version of X-Wing/Tie Fighter?

I'd have to say Skies of Arcadia. Second favorite would have to be Typing of the Dead. Now if I could just find that keyboard.....

I whole-heartedly agree. I really wish they would end that franchise already.

But that's my opinion. I am also the only person in history to HATE the Madden franchise....damn exclusive agreement with the NFL. At least NHL 09 is good.
