Vista license to only allow one computer transfer

Oct 13th 2006 11:22PM (Engadget)
This Sucks. I work in computer retail where I do a lot of upgrades in a week. You can just imagine peoples faces when I have to tell them they also have to buy a new Windows to go with their new parts. This will kill my job/business. Anyone know how much people in call centers make? I can see a new (forced) career for me soon.

I wasn't even thinking about a PS3 design when I first looked at this, but, a good idea is a good idea. I like it.

Only -3 degrees? Won't make a winter in Canada, most nights are around -25 to -35 before wind chill. (Celsius that is).

Gotta luv the classics. My kingdom for a really, really good MAME for the PSP.

PSP2 to sport a built-in camera?

Feb 24th 2006 10:24PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Naw. I still believe what most people have seen or even "rumored" to see is a new PMP player with on-board memory from Sony. I could see how one would be confused to think it would be a PSP2 (directional buttons, 16:9 screen, headphone jack, even maybe a UMD slot).
IF Sony did create a PSP2, I mean a completely new device with new features in just over a year, it would be utter suicide. It would enrage current PSP owners, and scare everyone away from the PS3.
Too many changes on the release of a new console? No one would touch it for fears of vaporware, and everyone would dump the current PSP on Ebay.

Wouldn't have been easier just to build it with standard brail markings?

Breaking news: Sony's UMDs aren't selling well

Feb 17th 2006 10:09AM (Engadget)
I like the UMD format. It does what it needs to do, store 1.8Gb of data in a small durable form factor. Lower the price of the moives and I'll buy all that you have. Extras? I don't even watch them on DVD, so I don't miss them in UMD. If Sony would release a UMD-RW, I'd be first in line (regardless of cost). Just so i could rip my existing DVD's (with no extras), music, and photos. New movies would be bought on UMD. They probably would lose some money in the UMD movie sales, but I would be buying a TON of blanks UMD's, and keep the MS for saved games and homebrew (stuff that needs R/W access).
Just a side note, i don't think that DVD-RW's hurt the DVD sales that much, so i don't think UMD-RW would either.

The PSP to see some hot Tekken action

Feb 11th 2006 10:51AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I will give up my precious, precious homebrew for Tekken. I'm not kidding! It's my all time favorite title, and the reason i stick with Sony.

Activision issues apology, no plans to recall Gun

Wow! Americans rewriting history (his-story) to suit their own needs again? And the mass-propaganda brianwashed sheep following along? I guess history does repeat itself.

Heil W! (a.k.a. yee-haw)
