Ah, of course it would all other things being what they are in the real world. But you forget that in halo's world, soldiers have far more advanced personal armor, so giving them a more open vehichle with better flexability of control and better lines of sight isn't as disasterous one would think.
Or it is just a stupid but cool looking design. Either one.
Powerlord, the PS2 version, which I have, does have some load time issues, but not as bad as Burnout 3, another game so good I can get past the laod times. Psychonauts is one of my all time favorite games. Schafer is an important part of the video game landscape. I love his work and I really wish it would get more attnetion. That Psychonauts got outsold by a wide margin by 50 Cent Bulletproof is a travesty. I strongly encourage anyone who has not played this game to get it and play it now. I don't usually like platformers, but Psychonauts is fantastic--the game mechanics, the visuals, the sounds and voice acting, and of course, the extremely compelling and well thought out story that gets into various mental illnesses like only a video game can, if a video game maker is as clever as Schafer.
One of my favorite voice actors--Invader Zim, Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans, Grimm Advenutures of Billy and Mandy--is Richard Horvitz. His voice just makes me laugh. He needs to be used more in games.
ThaddeusMcMonster, I have used documents like the original review and your revision of it in writing classes to show the differences between and unedited ranting and clear, readable writing. Bravo on showing that the review may very well have been pulled, because it did not effectively back up a controversal score.
The bottom line is that if you want to take a stand on a type of gameplay by being extra-critical of a certain game, you should make your case as clearly as possible. As Bobby Hill would say, the orignal review was "all sloppy and no Joe!" It may have some valid points hidden underneath the frustrated ranting, but it didn't have the clarity of writing necessary to back up its extreme opinions.
If you are going to go out on a limb, know that you'll likely have the spotline shined upon you. You better make sure all yours i's are dotted if you are going to give a major game release that has been highly anticiapted for years like NWN 2 a 5/10. You better be damn good at selling that score as legitimate if you want to keep your readers.
Racial tensios aside, anyone else think this extremely attractive bundle at an extremely attractive price including a great game taht appeals to the tastes of Japan will finally boost 360 sales goin in Japan?
I really thought it would be $200, but I guess with Wii Sports, $250 isn't too horrible. If they include a second wiimote in the deal, it's a good deal, but I doubt they will. the release date, if true, is much more disappointing. And foolish. They seem to be ready tolaunch sooner. Why wait?
To be fair to joystiq, it isn't like anyone else is updating on the conference. Maybe there is a gag order we don't know about, or maybe gaming journalsim just isn't high end enough yet to afford live coverage around the world. I'm as upset about this as anyone, but it's not like joystiq is the only one keeping us in the dark. frankly, I'd expect a bigger player like IGN to be there, not a blog site, but I guess they are not.
My bet is a 360 price drop. After reading IGN's news that the 360 core wtih two games is going to be selling for $250 in Japan, my thiking is maybe they'll get that agressive in all markets to really bury Sony and be more price competitive with Nintendo.
To "the Truth Hurts...": If you really think there are only 6 launch titles just because WIki via IGN has 6 confirmed titles, you are really delusional and can't do simple math. IGN, the same site that reports from Nintendo Power the 6 confirmed laucnh titles has another article confirming another dozen or so games. The 6 titles you suggest are the only ones confirmed are as follows: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, Red Steel, and Rayman Raving Rabbits.
Here are some other launch titles as reported by numerous sources, including IGN, who calls the Wii launch the greatest in Nintendo history:
Wii Sports Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam Madden NFL 2007 Metal Slug Anthology Trauma Center: Second Opinion Elebits Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Blitz: The League SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab Disney/Pixar's Cars
Bungie Weekly: fully functioning, real-world Warthog edition
