I'd love to win this.

Blizzard's Metzen: Pandaren are as 'serious as a heart attack'

Oct 26th 2011 8:43AM (Massively)
I think that if you ask the general WoW player, half of them will be unsure about this and wait for more info before just up and quitting the game, and the other half, like me, will be genuinely excited for the expansion. It's hard to say what we can expect, because we have so little info. But those people that just want to jump down the throat of Blizzard and say that they are selling out, probably don't even play the game.

We've all heard these arguments before. For those fans of WoW, Blizzard has made some odd choices in the past, but most would agree that the overall quality of the game is fantastic, otherwise the game would have failed years ago.

Forgetting the pandas for a moment, we're getting a new class, a new area to explore, a complete removal of the cookie cutter class system, new challenge settings for dungeons with new rewards for them, and whatever the new scenarios end up being...

also, pokemon, but I think most people are just scratching their heads on that one...

All in all, it's looking fantastic to me so far, and the revamping of the tensions between the alliance and horde are going to make that even more interesting when you consider the neutral disposition of the Pandaren.

Try to hold your judgments, at least untill we know more.

I was lucky enough to pull an "El Pollo grande" card from the TCG. My Draenei Pally now rides a Giant Chicken as her noble steed.

I wonder if VIP's are going to have early access?

The Daily Grind: What was your favorite experience as a healer?

Aug 3rd 2011 10:02AM (Massively)
FFXI. My buddy needed to kill leviathan for the sumoner quest. A guildmate of ours decided he was going to come out and kill it, and assured us that if we could keep him alive, he could kill it in record time.

We all met up outside Leviathan's cave, and the guildmate was done up in his monk gear, but was anon, preventing me from seeing his sub job.

He quickly whittled Leviathan down to 50% and after the 2-hour that did only minute damage, thanks to buffs, I see our monk friend pop the three abilities that, to this day, make me chuckle with amusement.

Last resort: increases damage, decreases defense
Soul eater: 10% health loss per attack is gained in damage.
100 fists: greatly decreases melee attack delay.

I never had to drop more frantic cures in my life. At one point he did the weapon skill "asuran fists" and nearly one shot himself. Leviathan went from 50% health to dead in 30 seconds. It was hilarious. Still my favorite memory from FFXI.

Square Enix unveils Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection: Abyssea Edition

there's a part of me that really wants to come back to the game, but is it really worth it? I was always one of the biggest champions for this game when everyone else on massively was quick to dismiss it. Most of my friends have moved on to other games.

I miss the atmosphere, the charm, but the old saying "You can never go home again" rings in my head.

I have to go with Mouse. Especially if it's a huge dog.

Breakfast Topic: How do you get rid of more money than you need?

Jan 17th 2011 9:00AM (WoW)
I'd make sure that every tank and healer in our guild was exceptionally well geared. (Myself included under tanks...)

I'd also get artisan flying.

and a chopper.

maybe my fishing and cooking would get past level 1

I can't even think of what I would do with that much gold. My only toon has just broken the 3K mark, and I'm ecstatic. (I'd have slightly more, but my brother-in-law came back to the game and I sent him 300g.) I don't do much in the way of professions (outside of mining, anyway. But I keep most of what I mine for when I eventually get around to blacksmithing.) Hopefully, if money is as easy to get as most people say it is, I'll get to that point one day.
