1. Because Nintendo ain't revealing to the public doesn't mean they ain't working hard behind the scenes with third party publishers. (Out of the blue, EA guarantee 6 games plus more to come).
2. Third party games on the Cube? They were almost always poorly done. Splinter Cell on the PS2 better then that on the GameCube??? The GameCube was more powerful than the PS2. The publishers just rushed the ports on the console.
3. And Midway... how many high quality titles have they put out apart from the decent Mortal Kombat games recently released? Ubi, EA, Square Enix, Activision... arent those the big dogs of the industry? They are fully associated with the Wii. And that's minus Nintendo's own games and franchises they haven't even milked. (Kid Icarus anyone?!?)
Its not all roses for Nintendo, but the future's bloody bright.
