Think of healing in cata as an enrage timer for heroic bosses. I can give you _x_ minutes for a fight, but I'm going to run out of mana if you keep missing the interrupts on Mend Rotten Flesh and Stay of Execution. If you can dispel magic, and you see a nasty magic effect on someone that's ticking for 10k damage/sec, DISPEL IT. If you're a ret pally, toss out the occasional WoG on someone with
I'd like to know about this as well. I've tried to use mozy several times, and given up each time because the initial backup takes ridiculously long (like, months), and the client keeps my fans running constantly. Backups also randomly fail. Very annoying.
B) The average random pug I'm seeing these days is in T9+ with ~5k gearscore, doing 4k+ dps. Just shut up and kill the stuff and I'll keep you healed and we can all get back to our lives.
C) The average random pug run takes ~20 minutes. A lot of the in-combat portion of that time is taken up by outdated boss mechanics (mage lady splitting, spider dude going underground, etc). At best, buffs would help you shave off what, 30 seconds?
They're seriously not even worth thinking about anymore.
I never toss out group buffs anymore. They're completely unnecessary and I don't like wasting the reagents because of the time and annoyance of restocking, not the monetary cost.
I'll buff an undergeared player without a request. If a guildy asks for a buff, I'll hit them with the single-target version. If a polite pugger asks, I'll do the same for them. If an annoying pugger (for instance, last night we got a tank named 'Rimmjobb', and his first words to us were 'whats up niggz') asks, they go on ignore if they weren't there already.

God I hate pugs.
