Do drivers with "green cars" put on more miles?

0.7% sounds like it could be accounted for by population/car owndership increase.

how about a miles per vehicle traveled average?

ehh, faster break lights still dont tell you if the guy ahead of you is slamming on his breaks or just slowing down 5mph.

The second or two it takes for you to notice and process that their car is slowing down very fast is the difference between a crash or not. The same happens if you have to process the amount of break light being "on"..."oh is that 2/3rds or 3/3rds on?".

Plus a rapidly flashing light naturally draws the attention of the human eye, because you know we all get distracted sometimes while driving.

Red running lights are fine, a good safety feature, just shouldnt be too bright in relation break light output.

I agree with the red turn signal though.

Actually a lot of small children cannot be seen at all out the rear window if they're standing close enough to a car, and much worse in SUVs.

I'm usually for more safety regulations, but this one should have been a low priority issue instead of getting an emotional boost from child deaths.

I bet there are more than 50 things in cars that could be regulated to provide a much much better lives saved vs extra cost ratio.

For one, freaking allow car break lights to blink rapidly when heavy breaking is applied...it would cost pennies to implement on cars and would be a huge safety benefit.

pre-heating is such a waste of energy, grow a pair people!

It even has heated seats, if they warm up quickly enough that's all you would need.

Good thing it's the 2010 F1 car. That thing is toast when Tony gets to the first right turn.
