Amazon clarifies some Gears of War 2 Lancer details

Jul 29th 2008 1:07PM (Joystiq)
Weak-sauce. Looks cheap. Chainsaw on the front looks like a fisher price "my first chainsaw" toy glued on the front. Over all the execution on this pack in is amateur at best. The more I look at it the more I hate it. Which kinda sucks because the gun should be a pretty cool pack in when you think about it.

OMG this game looks terrible. I would never ever play this if my life depended on it. Graphics are everything, and there is no way that anyone in their right mind could look at this game and think to themselves "this is awesome!!111" Anyone who likes this game is obviously so old that they have to wear an adult diaper. Leave the gaming to us young 31337 Gr4f1x k1ngz!!!11111

PlayStation 3's cost to Sony so far: $3.32 billion

Jun 24th 2008 3:44PM (Joystiq)
Ehhh when both the PS3 and the XBOX360 hit the 200 dollar price point (hard drive included) then I will finally move into the next generation. I know there are a lot of people like me out there, that think these things are still ridiculously expensive... even if they do have MGS4. I expect that the the PS3 will not recoup it's loses until it is "Slimlined" and and not much more expensive than a toaster.

Sessler constructively rants about Xbox Live bigots

Really now what did anyone who has ever played an online game expect. This isn't a new phenomenon. This "is" what online gaming is. It's one of the reasons I don't play online games anymore.

I know a lot of the younger gamers were promised this great online experience, With these publishers promising how much fun it's gonna be. In reality though most of these games are absolutly no fun to play unless you have an established clan that plays regularly schedualed matches.

This Is not a new thing. I've been playing games online since there was an online. And even then whether it be an FPS or an MMO or a MUDD on a BBS. This sort of trash talk has been going on since 14.4 external modems.

It will never go away. Welcome to online gaming.

It's an interesting concept, but it looks superficial if you look past the shiny graphics. Of course I don't want to rip on a game that is obviously still in development, but platforming games are about jumping puzzles and daft timing. Running on the wall just for the sake of running on a wall is trite in execution if it's not for a specific purpose. Even then, as seen in Prince of Persia, it just boils down to moving your character around. Even with the most flashy animation sequences and the ability to see your feet in the 1st person perspective the game play (as seen from this video) is reduced to little more than just moving a character around in a 3d box. Moving an avatar around just for the sake of moving an Avatar around in a 3d box does not a game make.

Bioshock = FPS

Mysims = Sims franchise

I'm no expert but it seems pretty obvious to me.

WiMAX could interfere with satellite communications?

Mar 17th 2008 1:13PM (Engadget)
How would this interfere with Satellites? Having had a WiMax set up for over a year i don't understand how it could possibly interfere with a satellite. The system that I have is a line of sight antenna that transmits to the tower at the main station. The maximum operating distance "They say" is 15 miles and that is with the use of a reflector. standard is 7 miles with out the reflector. Now I'm not a WiMax expert nor do I claim to be. but isn't a satellite farther out than the maximum operating distance? Also the satellite isn't really line of site to the transmition tower or the antenna. So how would it interfere?

Reggie: Holiday blockbuster for the Wii to be revealed at E3

I'd like to see a new franchise. Something gritty and a bit more adult. I'd also like to see a kick ass RPG franchise... or just take Star Fox back to the glory days.
