The Queue: Blame Alex
Mar 1st 2012 5:02AM (WoW)We need to manage our expectations about Mists of Pandaria
Feb 24th 2012 4:59AM (WoW)Sure, it is going to be exciting new world, new talents, new enemies and all the little toys to play with, but in the end it is going to be basically the same - dailies, raids and dungeons with some PvP in between if you want it.
I think the biggest change that will leave the most impact is character models update. May not seem significant, but with that change the "old wow" feeling will go away. t is going to be a slightly different game from that point onward.
Breakfast Topic: I found a tol'vir rare... oh, no
Feb 22nd 2012 9:44AM (WoW)Sure enough, got it on his first try.
Literally.
I suicided. In game.

Feb 22nd 2012 9:39AM (WoW)Raven Lord.
Ever since the beginning of Wrath I am soloing Sethekk Halls daily, without fail. Every day I am online. I changed 3 mains during that time and I saw the difficulty levels drop from quest and pretty much non-soloable dungeon with a qualified druid in it, to requirement of a druid, then just a very difficult place to solo (on a mage that time) to finally being able to kill Anzu before the first transition.
I have it on my druid, you know. Got it back then when there was still a quest for this thing. Never again, however. Over 300 tries or more - nothing. I don't even really expect it anymore, it's more of a habit these days. Power on the machine, log in and head to dark portal.
Encrypted Text: Rogue poisons dramatically redesigned in Mists of Pandaria
Feb 22nd 2012 9:26AM (WoW)Obviously, we will have to wait to see how it works for sure, but right now the most obvious thing to me is that this system might turn out to be a rather direct nerf - I got the impression that we will be able to apply one of each type of poisons, so that means no double utility poison and that means no crippling+wound poison for example.
Might turn out to be less than pleasant having to make choice like this, but we shall see.
3 things Warzones taught me to love about Battlegrounds
Feb 21st 2012 5:16AM (WoW)It's rather funny and sad at the same time, really. I hate all kinds of PvE, I don't like arena, I don't like battlegrounds and open world doesn't really exist in WoW outside Tol Barad and current content dailies area.
Howerver, what WoW has is a perfect combat system. So well done, that any other online games options just pales in comparison. To the point of comparison between computer and Arithmometer.
Breakfast Topic: What makes players pick their class?
Feb 20th 2012 4:02AM (WoW)That is speaking of PvP of course.

Feb 15th 2012 6:33AM (WoW)Reader UI of the Week: How to build a preliminary monk UI
Feb 15th 2012 6:28AM (WoW)I simply wouldn't play the game with the UI they are planning for the next expansion. First, they manage to destroy chat frames and now this.. bah. Why do I have to use random addons to keep my UI clear...
And yes, I do PvP. Actually *ALL* I do is PvP and I can keep track on my cooldowns and resources being in their default position - in the upper left corner of the screen or on enemy portrait at top - thank you very much.
What I want to see from Mists of Pandaria PvP
Feb 15th 2012 2:12AM (WoW)They could change it around depending on a spec, like if you are a DPS, you get a quest to kill, if you are a healer you get a quest to heal and if you are a tank, you get a quest to participate in a fight, for example CC an enemy player for some time or sustain certain amount of damage from enemy players.
In my opinion PvP zones like Halaa, Venture Bay, objectives in Zangamarsh and near Shattar were a failure. Nobody participated there because it takes too bloody long to solo (like, literally – hours if not days in case of Halaa mounts) and the rewards were pretty much non-existant. Tol Barad was a step in the right direction, but even so, TB is a PvE zone, only a single quest is directly related to PvP and while controlling the island allows you to access the raid, it is completely out of your hands to take it WHEN you need it. It's either you have it or not have it and there is nothing you can do to take it, unless you are playing in some severely underpopulated server.
PvP should be about PvP, which is players versus players. Not mobs, flagged as members of opposite faction.
