BioWare defines mass effect

Aug 12th 2006 11:36PM (Joystiq)
"Ah no. Pitch Black was a wonderfully fresh sci-fi movie. Chronicles of Riddick was a lame Vin Diesel movie. That's all there is to say about that."

Whose talking about the movies. We're talking about the voice acting in the Riddick video game. Please read the entire post before you embarass yourself.

BioWare defines mass effect

I actually agree with Hague 100%. The writing that was shown in the Mass Effect E3 demo was rather poor. I also don't think that this was their focus for the demo. They wanted to show how the facial expressions and graphics are a step above what everyone else is doing. I'm sure the story will be epic, but I hope they up the dialog to match it.

Oh and for the record, Riddick had great voice acting and dialog.

Congressman: Daily Show misrepresented me

"I believe we have a sub-culture (nothing to do with race) that is very impacted by certain music, video games, movies, etc. that glorify everything that is destructive, and mock everything that is good."

I agree with this statement for the most part, however...is music, videogames, movies etc contributing to this sub-cultures involvement in committing crimes? Or perhaps these media types are ways for them to express themselves(music), relate to the type of enviroment they have known their entire life(movies) and distract themselves from the reality they live(Videogames). People don't committ crimes because of a certain type of music they listen to, or because they just got done watching SCARFACE, or finished playing GTA. They committ crime either because they are unable to decide between right and wrong(crazy...addicted to drugs...dumb...etc) or because somewhere in their mind they have justified their actions(selling drugs = money = clothes = ho's). But to say that media impacts how we decide the difference between "right and wrong" is foolish. And this is why it will never be proven that Videogames have a negative impact on children. Psychologist will only agree that the "nature vs nurture" argument will decide who we are. psychology 101.

Has Joseph Pitts ever been to a ghetto to see what these "poor kids" have to go through? have you wonderbread?

The issue isn't videogames. The issue is that kids that grow up in poor families don't have money to do recreational activities that would keep them out of the streets. The school system usually sucks in these areas as well. I could tell you stories about how the school system fails these kids as I've seen it first hand. Videogames do not corrupt children. These poor enviroments do. If anything, videogames gives them a diversion from the rough reality that they live.

"Wonder Cheese: They're blaming the last straw for the broken back. The game may have pushed them over the edge, but in an environment of that sort something else is bound to do it unless they themselves have the resolve to do better."

Exactly. Instead of trying to fix the issue that enviroments like this still exist in America...he attacks video games. Brilliant!!!

He regrets it not because they were mocking him, but because he realizes how much of an a$$ he made of himself.

Which ironically goes the same for your post.
