I bought an iCade specifically for Super Crate Box and it's without a doubt the most addictive fun I have EVER had playing a video game.

I previously had my PS3 bluetooth controller for playing Crate Box on my Macbook, (but I could never make the leap over the bottom pit) however the iCade stick is absolutely perfect for it. I finally understand why people buy fight sticks now..

And no i don't work for iCade! I think they're terribly overpriced, but if you can find a good deal on one, completely worth it. (Bed Bath recently had them for $39)

@Third -- Another example is SEGA's patent on the overhead arrow that tells you where to go (ie. Crazy Taxi).

Game patents can definitey stifle innovation in games.. but it's more of an issue with the patent laws and just our culture in general nowadays I suppose, hard to blame companies for acting as they do a lot of times..

I love John Carmack's viewpoint regarding this, he's long been a champion for this sort of thing by giving out the source code to id's games

@Third - Not totally accurate. For instance Namco owns the US patent on "minigames during loading screens"

I believe $30 is just the new retail price for Rayman at all retailers. Sweet deal, but Ubi games always drop quikly. I'll keep waiting ;)

@PN04 - YES! it completely reminded me of Uncharted - the way she dodges the cow and then nearly gets hit by the two cars. Hops up a wall then jumps backwards to a balcony. I literally JUST played this game and it was called Uncharted 3

That video was so mindblowing back in 2009. Now it's actually starting to look dated, even clunky in some cases.

I know it's more of a passion project for a small number of people, but I really hope they haven't waited too long to finish this (Spoiler: pretty sure they have)

@boredasfook - I agree, the old Joystiq Podcast was an event. I would spam 'refresh' every friday afternoon waiting for it.. And what's frustrating is that it seemed so effortless for the guys to put on - which made it all the more disappointing when Justin said they were simply tired of doing it.

I consider myself and all Joystiq Podcast listeners avid gamers, but when even WE have a hard time getting excited for some episodes, that can't be good (developer interview? gag) I'm not sure who they are targeting with some content, other developers maybe?

@AssassinMonger - Agree! This was a favorite weekly thing at Joystiq.. I guess I'll stick to other sites that continue to list it :(

Now seems like a good time to tell you that the original Alan Wake's game data only took up 2.41 GB of space on the disc (another 3.74 GB was used for video sequences - source: Digital Foundry). So yes, "obviously" it would be possible :)
