Aug 15th 2011 12:22PM (Joystiq)You are correct, sir. It was confirmed a few months ago that our beloved Brain(As well as dozens of Futurama characters) will be voicing Mr. Freeze. It's pretty cool.

Sony America scraps UMD-to-PSP Go conversion plans
Sep 25th 2009 1:33PM (Joystiq)Awesome. Best ending to an article ever.... Hahaha. I can't believe their doing this. I mean, I can understand why they think it's logical, but the fact that Europe is getting a semi-redeeming reward offer and Americans aren't is a big slap in the face to American consumers. I was almost to the point where I could look past the RIDICULOUS price tag, because it's a really slick looking machine! But I already have a PSP-2000, and at this point if I were to upgrade, it would be to a 3000. I think I'll be sticking with what I have though. It's so bewildering! Do they not comprehend how many more units they might sell if they offered some sort of downloading/transfer of UMDs service??? Even just a: "mail away your proof of purchase for a code to download a previously purchased game from PSN." deal would have been nice. I think I'll be looking elsewhere this holiday season for electronic entertainment. Hopefully they'll come to their senses sometime during the next year (When they're not exactly flying off shelves, or being ordered by stores anymore) and drop the price a tad and offer a transfer service. I mean, maybe they're trying to cater more to new consumers not interested in having all that physical media, but I feel like they should try to cater to new and old consumers.
It's kind of like with the Wii, for a while we had Smash Bros. Brawl, Galaxy, No More Heroes, etc, etc... But now long-time fans looking for something to play are out in the cold, because they didn't space out their releases or plan accordingly for this almost two year gap with a few releases here and there, like Animal Crossing and such. I'm finding myself playing my VC copy of the ol' Link to the Past more than anything on that system. (I'm going to give Dead Space Extraction a shot though, because I liked the first one.) They're not thinking about... Early adopters? Long-time customers that want something very specific? (Only because we've come to expect a certain amount of quality from Nintendo's first party stuff.) Whichever fits best. People that already have a bunch of UMD games they really like don't really want to buy them AGAIN... I guess the expect people that already have UMDs to upgrade to the 3000? But I'd still like a Go...
If Sony dropped the price, I can see myself picking a Go up. I have a lot of great stuff that I love to play like GoW and Darkstalkers and MHF2 that I'd love to be able to store in there along with new stuff like P3P and Half-Minute Hero. There are some situations where something special comes along, and I'd like to have the box, But I'm really enjoying what I've gotten from the PSN store, like Gurumin and Guilty Gear Judgement and stuff like that. It's definitely exposed me to things I might not have noticed at the store or been willing to risk the money on when I know there's other stuff in the same store that I'm sure to like.
It's kind of like any sort of music media player, like iTunes or something. I can buy the physical CD for a band a really like, because I want to have the box and the CD and stuff, but I can also stick it in the computer, put it on my iPod, and have it there as well. It's a nice system, and I think if they adopted it, they'd see a lot more success with the Go. (At least from me, and other consumers that share a similar buying strategy...)
