Palm's VP of design shows off Pre features, scoffs at N95

Jan 30th 2009 12:51AM (Engadget)
I believe he was just pointing out the ports and outer buttons.

Also it's a silence switch!
A basic function on all new Palms for quick, no mess silence mode which auto activates vibration mode as well (if it isn't already part of your regular configuration).

He wiped the back of the screen not the back of the keyboard because he is a salesman and its common to try and show things off at their shiniest and most pristine form.

Digital TV transition postponement all but certain

Jan 22nd 2009 11:23PM (Engadget)
I think the biggest problem that has happened with this is that EVERYONE thought they'd be affected by this Change when in reality it is only people who do not subscribe to Cable or Satellite. So all of these vouchers have been going to people who don't need them. Its ridiculous that the government did not see this coming. I think we should continue with the switch as planned in February because people have had more than enough time to buy their boxes or prepare to not have TV until they buy a New Set because all new sets are ready and I bet even people with new sets have applied for this coupons.

One million dollars worth of goods sold in Home so far

Jan 10th 2009 5:31AM (Joystiq Playstation)
The reason for Home is pure Genius. It allows people to have their "dream" Home virtually, at moderately well priced items. I think Sony hit Gold with this (literally) because if there were lets say 17million counsels out there in the world and one person buys an item of clothing for lets say a measly 0.50ยข, Sony would make $8,500,000. THAT'S INSANITY.

This is also not anything new for all those people shocked at this. Just look at Neopets, they integrated pieces of clothing and those things sell like crazy because everyone loves to accessories and dress their pets; Sony just thrived on that and thought, well people want to dress and accessorize themselves, lets do it and have it be "remotely affordable." They knew people were going to want to buy stuff because everyone likes buying things. I think home is going to develop into and immense online world; the threshold of networking done right.

Well done Sony. I take my hat off to you. Now use that money and make us proud to be PlayStationers. (and develop a PSP 2 with built in HOME!!)

Ask PSP Fanboy: Volume 47

Dec 7th 2008 1:09AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Yeah I think a touchscreen would be great addition to add to the PSP, imagine using it to scroll through the XMB!! But of course physical buttons would indeed still be in the next iteration of the PSP as well as a built in camera, come on sony you do sell cameras as well and not to mention on phones too, use your powers for the good of the psp! (and don't just name it the PSP 2, be CREATIVE) (stares at his PS...3) also applications would rock on the PSP's wide screen!

ALSO a TV TUNER!!! Come on sony we are going digital! Have it accept those signals or make an add on, i don't care but gives us love like you make love with your Japanese counter-parts!!
