Assassin's Creed 2 'Bonfire' DLC and 'Black Edition' content out today

Feb 18th 2010 2:29PM (Joystiq)
I haven't really gone through it or even thought of going through it myself. The odd part is, I bought the last DLC, and still have yet to play it. Then again, I save a lot of my PS3 games for whenever my Xbox 360 decides to crap out on me, so I'll have AC2 and the DLC on my PS3 when that day comes. Still, I know what you're saying. The game was addicting to play for me, but... honestly, I can't get back into it.

XMB battery meter glitch 'definitely being corrected'

Jul 11th 2009 9:47PM (Joystiq)
I have both systems, and honestly, the PSN isn't caught up to XBL yet, but it has some features I would love to see on XBL.

For one, though, until they add mandatory Trophies, full custom soundtracks (including streaming from MP3 players and PCs in game) and cross-game chat, they are not caught up in the slightest. There's also the fact that going into sub-menus of the XMB doesn't allow you to back out just by pressing the PS button. You have to back out fully to the XMB, then use the PS button, which doesn't make any difference at that point. Make those menus close with the button, it'll be much faster to check things and get back to your game.

One thing I would love to see on XBL is free themes (user made especially). Unfortunately, that's the only thing I want on XBL that the PSN offers. Party chats with people in different games is awesome, and even more awesome for having a group of 8 on Halo 3 planning in the pregame lobby without the other team hearing. It allows strategy and makes things feel more war-ish, less like a game when only you can hear.

Modern Warfare 2 trailer analysis hints at perks, locations, teddy bears

Mar 27th 2009 2:45PM (Joystiq)
You do realize there were Teddy Bears hidden on CoD4, right? There's one in a TV in Chinatown which can't be found until you break the TV, and I can't remember where the second one is. Who knows?

Skate 2 getting custom soundtracks today

Mar 23rd 2009 2:26PM (Joystiq Playstation)
So... Why has it taken Sony this long to even consider making it required to add custom sound tracks to every new release? They're slacking on their features, and frankly, it's causing them to slip behind even farther. I guess they're on track with the original XBox by having 20% of their games custom soundtrack compatible, but if they want to be considered any form of competition, well... They might want some requirements that can be understood by all developers.

Joyswag: Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack

Feb 23rd 2009 5:25PM (Joystiq)
I'm most looking forward to Sandbox, obviously, because Forging is the main thing that's kept my attention in Halo 3 for this long. However, between Assembly and Orbital, I'm most looking forward to Orbital. I'm hoping to Forge some awesome infection maps on that map due to it's corridors and several hiding places.

Free second pedal with GH: Metallica preorder

Jan 19th 2009 5:33PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I 100% agree, Lars really isn't a great drummer. He's alright, but he's definitely not the best drummer. Compare him to somebody like Neil Peart and he's got nothing. He usually keeps a steady beat with the occasional fill, he's just an alright metal drummer who gets far more fame than he deserves.

Fanswag Weekly: Fable II Knothole Island DLC

Jan 14th 2009 5:12PM (Joystiq Xbox)
It would probably be using my ridiculous amount of fame to lure about 10 people into the Temple of Shadows, killing them all at once. I was hoping it would be the sex change for them, that would have been awesome. Instead, all of their heads fell off =)

Castle Crashers 'King Pack' DLC releasing this Wed [update]

Jan 13th 2009 12:35PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Yay Castle Crashers! Finally the game's getting some support. It's been about 5 months, but... I guess better late than never?

Joyswag regift giveaway: You're in the Movies (with bonus Popcorn Maker)

Dec 30th 2008 5:14PM (Joystiq)
What item could possibly be more random than a popcorn machine for advertising Guitar Hero?

How about a potato masher?

And the game to be paired with it would be Sneak King. A $10 value, yours for $9.99 Shipping & Handling!

That'd be the most disappointing giveaway ever....

Rumor: New studio working on Crackdown sequel

Dec 19th 2008 5:03PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I'm hoping this is true, and I'm also glad that people see how great Crackdown was. I just beat it for the 2nd time the other day. I had stopped playing it, but I'd forgotten how fun it was. Easily one of the best XBox 360 games, but unfortunately, it got a horrible reputation because everybody thought "Oh, it's selling because of the Halo 3 Beta", which is entirely false. I bought it from playing the demo since that was just ridiculously fun, I got in the Beta through friends & family anyway.

I do find it funny that the game cases still say "Comes with access to the Halo 3 Beta!" as if that's still a selling point, lol.
