Tons of my friends also complained to as many companies as they could. The fact that it was region locked pissed me off in the first place, but the fact that it didn't say anywhere in the product manual, game disc, or game contents was insanely frustrating and unacceptable to me. If I'm going to pay $50 a year for a service that theoretically is going to allow me to play with whomever I want, whenever I want, then I am paying for that, not for EA to region lock their shit servers.

I got two emails back from someone in EA and Pandemic both contradicting each other. The one from EA said the region locking was not going to be removed, but the one from Pandemic said that it was being patched out.

I could understand region locking if the service (XBL) was free, but it's not. And if I want to play with someone in another region, I should be damn well able to. I hope to fuck that region locking does not become a trend, and I really hope EA does not continue with this. If they don't region lock this game, chances are I'll buy it. They lost me as a customer when they started region locking more than one game.

Not interested if this is going to be region locked. I lost interest in the first one as soon as I found out it was region locked. Same shit happened with Mercs 2. Bought it on launch day and thoroughly checked all contents and found no evidence it was region locked, but it was. You better believe I sent EA and Pandemic letters and filed a complaint with the BBB.

And you don't think inFamous looks generic as hell?

Why did they even add the numbers then if you don't get matched by them? That's even more stupid IMHO sounds to me like they're trying to hide the old shitty ranking system with this "new and improved" numbers, but everyone keeps telling me that the old system is there you just can't see it. WTF was the point of "changing" the ranking system if all it did was add numbers? Sounds like a waste of time to me.

The new ranking system is as bad as the old one. Me and my friend were in a party together (two level 1's) and went in to matchmaking. Our team consisted of 1, 1, 5, 2, 7. The other team consisted of 21, 18, 14, 8, 7. How does that happen? That's broken matchmaking right there. I am convinced this game is FUBAR.

If that is the case then I do sincerely apologize I just REALLY hope someone understands my thought process on this. I think most of the gameplay mechanics like weapon mapping are so universal now that you shouldn't even try comparing one to another, unless a game manages to seriously eff it up somehow.

To everyone saying they haven't had lag in Gears or Gears 2, I believe it. But also if you look around there are so many people saying they're having horrible lag etc etc. I was playing Gears 2 co-op with a friend of mine who lives in England (I live on the West Coast USA) and we had some horrible lag. I know, that's inevitable right? With ping times and all? RE5 we haven't had a lick of lag. Why is there such a huge difference in online quality? There really shouldn't be, Gears and Gears 2 have always had some kind of lag problems whether you've experienced it or not.
