Apple patent application reveals ad-supported OS, desktop Armageddon

Oct 22nd 2009 3:21PM (Engadget)
Has anyone considered the idea that maybe Apple patented this concept to PREVENT anyone from ever doing it (including themselves)?

Sony's PSP Go available t-t-t-today junior!

@ willxcore

There is simply no reason to buy one other then size/form factor that many have criticized. I have two PSPs and feel absolutely no need to 'upgrade' to this thing. I'm not compelled.

This will be Sony's worst selling console to date. Just wait and see.

Also, no, not 'troll fail', it's Sony not knowing what their customers want FAIL.

Dell Mini 9 gets snug little GPS hack

Does it bother anyone that the antenna is on the INSIDE of the case?
A mod with the antenna peeking out of the top of the LCD bezel would have been much more impressive.
(flush fitting, of course)

In case anyone is interested, the Acer Aspire One has quite a bit of room inside out it as well.

The motherboard ends at the blue ribbon connector for the SSD.
The wifi card at the bottom is floating over the bottom of the case. The dark grey areas are the bottom of the case. The PCB on the far right is a break out board for the additional USB/SD ports. There is room all around the SSD for whatever you might want to add.
Just sayin'...

Pandora pre-orders extended through the weekend

Oct 3rd 2008 12:58PM (Engadget)
My current setup is an Acer Aspire One with a Kensington micro bluetooth module and an old PS3 sixaxis controller.
It works great and I love the Acer, but I pre-ordered the Pandora anyway. I just really want to support the effort... and besides it's like a dream-team product hardware wise.

Eee marketing getting adorably bitchy

This ad feels sleazy and deceptive... they should have just said :

1) larger netbooks have added volume for heat dissipation. (smaller=hotter)

2) more expensive netbooks have larger screens.

I'd rather have the smaller machine with the same CPU/RAM/HDD specs. BONUS if it's the cheaper unit too.
