Feb 4th 2009 8:53PM (Joystiq)
I voted for John McCain, but I can't deny that Obama just won some kudos from me.

Namco Bandai unleashes Invincible Tiger on XBLA, PSN

Feb 4th 2009 8:50PM (Joystiq)
Hmm, that kinda makes me think back to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... I don't remember that movie having any tigers or dragons in it...

America's Next Top Model finalist turns to game design

Feb 4th 2009 8:47PM (Joystiq)
Wow, I would have never thought that someone on America's Next Top Model would be a gamer. Extra kudos to her for not letting her disability hinder her.

Just goes to show, video games really are for everyone.

EA: Quality up, but Q309 earnings 'below' expectations

Feb 4th 2009 12:57AM (Joystiq)
Well, as much as EA deserved some good revenue for their laudable efforts at making quality titles this past year, the world doesn't always work that way. It's a shame, but that's life I guess.

EA confirms multiplatform Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company sequel

Feb 3rd 2009 7:08PM (Joystiq)
Hooray, Mass Effect 2!! *throws a party*

Rumor: Turok 2 shelved, Disney Interactive lays off over 200

Feb 3rd 2009 6:48PM (Joystiq)
Hmm, I haven't played a Turok game since Seeds of Evil. I was originally intrigued by the revamp, but skipped it due to hearing that it wasn't very good. In light of that, I have to wonder how good the sequel would have been (or will be, depending).

On the other hand, if they were going to reintroduce the Cerebral Bore, it can't be all bad. My friends and I could never get enough of that gun back in the day (though considering I was still fairly young back when that came out, that may not be a good thing =P).

EA announces Dead Space for Wii, hints at MotionPlus support

Feb 3rd 2009 6:43PM (Joystiq)
worrying that Dead Space might be as good on the Wii as it is on the 360.

Make that "worrying that Dead Space might NOT be as good on the Wii as it is on the 360." Fix'd.

EA announces Dead Space for Wii, hints at MotionPlus support

Feb 3rd 2009 6:42PM (Joystiq)
I love Dead Space (*points at avatar*), and I love my Wii... yet I feel oddly conflicted about Dead Space coming to the Wii. As much as I think Dead Space's gameplay could benefit from the motion sensing controls, I also think the game would lose out on a lot of atmosphere, which, as much as Dead Space did so many things in gameplay right, its atmosphere was masterful and really sold the setting.

The fact that I've played the game on the 360 already may have spoiled me on the matter, as it's not that Dead Space on the Wii couldn't look or sound decent, but it just wouldn't match up to the high quality that that I already associate with the game (well, now franchise I guess).

On a tangential note, I'm surprised at myself. I'm normally not a snob when it comes to things like graphics or what system a game is on... and yet here I am, worrying that Dead Space might be as good on the Wii as it is on the 360. I would be greatly pleased if the game turns out to be as amazing as the original, and if it's in any way a sequel, I will probably get it regardless, but I am a little concerned that the atmosphere, which, while important to any game, is especially crucial to Dead Space (or any survival horror game), might suffer. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. Don't let me down, EA. Dead Space greatly increased my respect for you as a company.
