I don't understand why people keep whining about console play. They obviously have computers and Blizzard always caters to the low end when it comes to system specs. Is it too hard for them to play with a mouse and keyboard?
The main issue with PvP in Diablo II was that it was often a matter of who had the best gear. If you could suit up better than the other guy, you'd win. I'm betting that won't change. The big problem was that it allowed griefers to ruin big co-op games by popping into a good game with a lot of lower level players who were questing and going hostile on them. All PvP should have to be mutually consented upon.
People aren't getting it. It's not about the kid being spoiled or not getting enough gifts. It's about the cruelty of using a box for an item he seriously wanted explicitly to fool him and then laugh at him. The look in his eyes said it all. That's a kid who will never trust people completely. His family has robbed him of the joy of receiving a gift for the rest of his life because he'll never want to be vulnerable to being humiliated like that again. These sorts of experiences at a young age really stick with people.
Even for Tokyo, 170,000 yen a month is a very, very expensive place though I guess if it's big enough to share with another person, it's not too bad.
However, it's not 6 months of *salary* to rent an apartment as most people make more than 170,000 yen a month (a low pay rate is 250,000 for most foreign folks). It's 6 months of *rent* (first and last, 2 months gift, 1 month security, 1 month rental agency fee). And you are going to get roughly half of that back (2 months applied to your rent and some, possibly most, of your security deposit back).
The biggest impediment to renting isn't covered here and that is the discrimination you face as a foreigner. A lot of landlords say, "no pets, no foreigners, and no prostitutes."
IF there's a suit as a result of this, it'll just go to show how lawsuit-happy companies are. Both of them have a touchscreen showing the equivalent of the front of a telephone. What was Apple/LG going to do for the dialing pad? It's not like they could layout the numbers differently. The first shot of the interface (not the dialing pad) is not the least bit similar though the LG phone really does resemble a PDA (like a Visor).
I'm glad someone else has pointed out that these are design models to show the capacity of the refrigerator and the mechanisms of the other items.
These are not consumer models. The actual models in white are pictured next to the transparent mock-ups. If you look at the signs to the left of them, you can clearly see them.
It's amazing that I've seen this incorrect posting 3 times on 3 different blogs now.
A lot of people are viewing the iPod from a very self-centered view. They ask themselves if they'd want new features and decide no one will want them if they don't. This isn't about each user. It's about all potential users. Additional features won't change the appeal the iPod has for a core audience of those who listen to content but it may persuade other potential buyers to choose an iPod for its flexibility and future use potential. Right now, Apple has over 70% of the MP3 player market. If they want to keep that marketshare or get new buyers, they have to offer more than cheaper players.
That being said, I'm surprised even the most jaded reader hasn't seen the advantage of a handheld electronic reader on occasion. For reading at night in bed, it's far more comfortable than propping yourself up and using a light with a conventional book. You can hold it in one hand and require no external lighting. There's also potential for vertical markets and student use (imagine being able to search textbook content on the fly or being in college and carrying an iPod instead of a bag full of large books). It's not only about people on public transportation with time to kill.
Diablo 3 to emphasize cooperation, PvP to be included
