Jul 22nd 2006 8:57PM (Joystiq)Now for the reception. First of all, we had a section of the ballroom reserved for some XBox's, PS2's, and GC's, so you could play Halo, Super Smash Bros., and DDR, just to name a few games. Each table had a video game character instead of a number, so you might be sitting at the Kefka table or the Link table. Our guest list was about 175 people and I would say out of those people, maybe 25 were gamers and knew what any of it was all about. When they introduced the bridal party, they played the theme from EverQuest. The bouquet toss was the chocobo theme. The garter toss was a song from the Japanese rhythm game, Mojib Ribbon. The cake cutting was the Moogle theme. Our first dance was "Eyes on Me" from FF8. Throughout the reception, was game and anime music. Xenogears, Xenosaga, FF, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, DDR, Kingdom Hearts, Silent Hill, and Wild Arms just to name a few. I had to make CD's for the DJ company since they didn't have ANY of this stuff, of course. The final song of the evening was "Dancing Mad" from FFVI. You know, that really long song that plays while you're fighting Kefka. Oh, and instead of having some cute couple on the top of the cake, we had a little figure of Vivi from FFIX. There was other stuff, too, but I can't remember... It was almost 2 years ago.
Gaming is my and my husband's passion, so it worked. I can pretty much guarantee that no one has ever had or will have a wedding quite like ours. :)
