Playing Dirty: The queer hero

Jan 4th 2007 2:38PM (Joystiq)
After posting his comments Captain Obvious (or whomever gave his post 2 stars) went to McDonalds for a McFlurry.

This is what happened:

"but it all seemed unnecessary, out of place and, well, weak"

Couldn't have been as bad as the 1,000,000,000 weak hetersexual story lines I've had to endure on TV.

Indulgence?? Come on.

Six degrees of Nintendo Wii

I set my Mii to mingle but he came back with an S.T.Wii.

I think it's Gonorr-wii-a.

NETNAVI - you don't agree with gay people and I don't agree with idiots.

Gilmore Girls: Knit, People, Knit!

So far the Chris/Lorelai marriage fits the pattern: he's interested for a bit, then there will be a challenge or conflict and HE'S GONE!

That's EXACTLY what will happen.

She'll realize that's why it didn't work and why that makes Luke so perfect (his dedication to April vs. Christopher, the fickle rich boy).

It's so obvious, it's painful.

So the question is, what is going to happen? Is he going to lose his money somehow? That might make sense. Or is Lorelai going to have a close call with a cancer test? Or worse, is Lorelai going to have a close call with a pregnancy test??

Wii ennui from Slate: "Nintendon't" [update 1]

Nov 21st 2006 9:15AM (Joystiq)
I am not a nintendo fan boy and got my Wii after only waiting 20 minutes in downtown Toronto (was waiting at the Future shop but lucked in on the HMV consoles). I wasn't going to put much time into getting it cause I didn't care that much.

That said, I laughed at this article since I haven't had the same experience and the guy sounds like he has an agenda.

I'm going to have plenty of non-gaming friends over and I can guarantee that they'll either be getting their own Wiis or at the very least their own wiimotes.

As for his criticism of the pointer - I didn't notice cause I was too busy having fun.

"It saddens me that people take delight in other people's misery."

What are you, 5 years old??

Have you read a newspaper, watched a reality TV show, read a biography, watched a bio-pic, watched a documentary, scene a news program, etc. etc. etc.

Grow up.

It's art - fools.

"Great move. Filling up landfills to make a point about consumerism. You sure thought this through..."

You clearly missed the point, DiRT.

PS3 gets smashed on launch day

I'm actually proud that these guys are from my city, Toronto. They don't really have much of an agenda in their intent but the underlying anti-consumerist angle is one we aren't exposed to enough these days.

"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that." - Lloyd Dobler, Say Anything

PS3 crime spree!

"Found this article, the Wal-Mart/Edwards story is actually NOT fake"

If by "NOT fake" you mean that the details are ABSOLUTELY DIFFERENT than what the original story in the post (and the Walmart press release) implies than yes - the story is true. Read the linked story and you'll see that "a volunteer" called and lied that he was calling "on behalf" of the former Senator.
