Official DC Comics app is live

Jun 23rd 2010 6:14PM (TUAW.com)
The big deal here is that DC is releasing some books day and date alongside their retail availability. This is a HUGE move on their part. Marvel and the other publishers are sticking to mostly archive content in their digital publications.

iPhone 4 early shipments include some defective Retina displays

This is exactly why I don't buy the first production run of most Apple products. Their manufacturing companies are NOTORIOUS for needing to "work the kinks out". The first run of almost every product has some crazy problem like this. See: warping Macbook cases, cracking macbook cases, screen bubbles on the original iPhone (like mine), and so on. When it comes to "Revision A" Apple gear, it's always wise to wait a few weeks and see what crops up before you go out and buy it.

New Xbox 360 slim: hardware details

Does it have an IR port? I use mine with my Harmony remote and want to upgrade, but if the IR port is gone then forget it.

Xbox 360 250GB first unboxing!

Does it have an IR port? I'd love to upgrade to get more space, but if it won't work with my Harmony remote I'll be sticking with the current model.

EA Sports to charge used game buyers $10 to unlock basic online multiplayer

May 11th 2010 6:36PM (Engadget)
I'm all for it. Anybody that buys a game used has no right to complain when the sequel to their beloved game doesn't get approved because of poor sales of the first game (thanks to used copies cannibalizing sales of new copies, and thus cutting of the publisher/developer's share of the profits).

Anything to stop or slow used game sales is good in my book. I don't buy them (with the exception of retro / out-of-print games, since new copies aren't available). GameStop and their ilk can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned. The mom & pop game store with the museum like collection of classic used retro titles can stay though. They're fulfilling a need, GameStop is just abusing the industry for their own gain.

I'd sure like it.

iPad use case: Foodie

May 3rd 2010 9:55AM (TUAW.com)
The developer of YummySoup, a fantastic recipe app for the Mac (the best probably) has confirmed that he's working on iPhone and iPad versions of YummySoup, which will be out soon after version 2.0 of the Mac app releases (should be soon, he's on 1.9.3 right now).

Make babies with a co-op partner in Fable 3

$10 says this feature is "aborted" prior to launch, like oh so many other features planned for Fable games.

Tim Tebow named NCAA Football 11 cover star

Apr 11th 2010 7:27PM (Joystiq)
This doesn't make him any less of a super-douche on the field. At the 2008 FSU-UF game in Tallahassee, the Seminole D hit Percy Harvin hard and put him out for the game. The FSU fans applaud when the injured player gets up and walks off the field. It's a sign of courtesy and respect that they show to all players, regardless of what team they play for (even if its Miami and Florida). What did Tim Tebow do while the fans were cheering for Percy? He ran over to the sidelines and started shouting at them. I know because I was there watching him do it. Real class, that Tim Tebow. Real class.

All the best to you and your family though. It was a really stand-up thing of Tim to do off the field. He seems like a real wholesome guy all around. It's a shame he acts like such a turd when he puts a helmet on. It doesn't help that the media tried their hardest to fellate him for his entire college career. It also doesn't help that Florida fans are even worse going on and on about their great QB that was only a QB in name.

(P.S. Florida fans, I'm so glad the Gators choked on Bama and will never go Wire-to-Wire as the AP #1 for an entire season like the Seminoles did.)

Tim Tebow named NCAA Football 11 cover star

I hope they don't expect to sell many copies here in Tallahassee... or anywhere outside of Gainesville for that matter, at least to fans of college football.
