Wii Music introduced into D.C. school's curriculum

Mar 16th 2009 6:43AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I like Wii Music.

The Bit.Trip.Beat stops on WiiWare this Monday

Mar 15th 2009 12:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Definitely my most-anticipated WiiWare title and one of the Wii games I'm most looking forward to, full stop.

It also allows for button-presses to improvise with the music a la Wii Music which is the extra special sauce in this delicious retro dish.

Joystiq hands-on: EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis

I really think 1:1 motion is going to be one of those things that people thought they wanted in gaming, but which reality will show not to be the case.

Developers are going to have to be just as judicious with how they implement this as they should be with any other kind of motion control in games. The notion that the wiimote is somehow "broken" without it is false; it has limitations, but what's mostly broken is developers not using it properly.

Kawata: Darkside Chronicles a 'very dark' Resident Evil

I think you're being too cautious given the volumes of information thus far. I'm already predicting 3/10 metacritic scores!

Ask Joystiq Nintendo: Inaugural Edition

I still have yet to see anything stating that SD downloading will not include loading from SD. Joystiq appears to be the only people positive about this. It was clearly stated that what is desired is to have a single seamless mechanism for launching games from SD -- this doesn't necessarily mean that the load will happen direct; it could be that there's a background copy process happening that will increase wear and tear on the card and internal flash, which would suck, but still be better than having to manually delete and copy ourselves.

VC/WiiWare Tuesday: Revenge of Clu Clu Land

I bought The Super Shinobi yesterday. Looking forward to some trademark-violating goodness tonight!

Rumor: Resident Evil 'Darkside Chronicles' coming to Wii

Mar 11th 2009 10:57AM (Joystiq)
If it covers off RE4 as well as RE2 I'm interested (hell, I'm even thinking of buying Umbrella Chronicles again as a counterpoint to the pure arcade brevity of Ghost Squad and House of the Dead: Overkill).

Honestly guys doing more sequels or remaking other games would not be a substitute for this -- why would you even want that? If this is fun, great, otherwise make something NEW -- and don't be lazy like the broken last stage of Zak & Wiki which totally ruined that game.

Yes, and I've been playing it all this time. Hahahahaha!

Boom Blox Bash Party trailer makes our pitching arm sore

The ability to share levels sans friend codes is what sold me on this; the gameplay in the first one was good, and this looks excellent, but building a community with user-generated content and DLC from the publisher will really give it legs.

The Conduit to use Wii Speak, new trailer sizzles with 'conspiracy'

Mar 7th 2009 8:06PM (Joystiq)
WiiSpeak is painfully easy to find in the UK as a standalone product: go into any GAME, and it's there.

I've got this game on pre-order; seems like a safe bet. Customisation is excellent in both controls and HUD and the story sounds good (hopefully it will be executed well). Online play I'm indifferent to: single player has to be enjoyable enough for me to want to replay once a year or so for me to be happy with it.
