why does everyone care about PS2 emulation? The Playstation 3 came out in 2006! You really expect Sony to cater to something that they stop active development on almost 4 years ago? are any of your 4+ year old games really worth playing today? And if they are then why don't you still have your PS2?

Actually all the Gamestops I have been in have enough copies of Assassin's Creed for the 360 to build another gamestop with them.

If u click the link to the actual product page you will see that the "s-Video" connector is actually a dongle port for additional included charging heads, one being for the Sony Ericsson phones.

My guess is, the reason they ceased continued PS2 compatibility in the PS3 was so they could continue to sell the PS2 along-side the PS3. Since games are still being developed for the system it kinda makes it the cheapest active development system.

PS2 = $99
XBOX Arcade = $199
Wii = $249
PS3 = $399

But really, who would want to invest even $100 to buy a system that is already bottom of the barrel? The only people i see interested in PS2's are people who currently have PS2 games, and those people probably already have a PS2 system!!!

Now think about this... what if sony added a media app to the PS2 similar to the PS3, put the PS2 slims inarded into a Sony XPLODE car receiver with a flip out LCD and wireless headret monitors as well and adapted the wireless dualshocks into the system and sold it as a car audio multimedia solution!?!?! Sell it for $399 or less... Then you would find a market. The average Wal-Mart Car Receiver shopper wouldnt have to half-ass mod a PS2 into their car with wires and power adapters... they could just have this system installed!!!!

Thank you Sony for your Global Announcement. One question though, Once I get my Playstation 2, what am I to do with my OLD Playstation 3? Are the PS3 games compatible with the new PS2 (Forward compatibility?) ? It has Blu-Ray right?
