Suda 51: next No More Heroes won't be on Wii

Jul 3rd 2009 4:44PM (Joystiq)
Ugh. I have a 360, so I'll be able to play the third one (if there is a third one) when it comes out, but the idea of playing it with Natal is sickening. I can't believe people who complain so much about getting tired while playing the Wii are turning around and saying how much fun it's going to be to jump around on a twister board and do Dance Dance Revolution moves WHILE playing Gears of War 3.

*Sigh* I was hoping that no More Heroes would always be a Nintendo exclusive. And then Travis Touchdown could be in the next Smash Bros.

Review: The Conduit

Nature did not invent firearms. We were never intended to shoot anything. :P

But I know what you mean, man. After I played Metroid Prime 3, I found myself incapable of returning to Xbox360 FPS titles, because the controls are so...inferior. People I know always say, "Oh Metroid yeah yeah I hear that's good but it's boring". I respond by saying, "Play it." If they listened to me, they would never even bother to compare it to Halo again.

Delicious Andy Cap's Hot Fries. Or anything prepared utilizing Louie's recipes from Pikmin 2.

Review: The Conduit

Yeah, I gotta agree. It's nothing revolutionary, but if you only own a Wii (or if you're like me and rarely ever look at FPS games on other consoles) you'll want to look into it. The online player is the best you'll find on Wii, but the singleplayer is novel at first only for the controls. After that it gets kind of boring, just before you get into the large scale battles towards the end. The final level does provide a good challenge, but one Trust weapon in particular makes it too easy. The ending is terrible too, but if you don't care much about how cliche or boring the story can be and just want a Halo-esque online experience for the Wii, go for it. Because this gives you just that.

In summary: Great online. The rest, eh...

de Sequel

Jan 24th 2009 7:42PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I don't know, the first one was kind of repetitive. It was better than I expected, but just about all of the levels were the same thing and the lack of a jump button pissed me off so much sometimes. I'm all for the concept of newer, more original games like de Blob, but I'm looking for more games LIKE de Blob, not more de Blob. Not every game needs to have a sequel just because the game's release didn't cause the company to go bankrupt. It seems like everytime a game sells a few hundred thousand copies (like most of them do) people automatically decide it needs a sequel. It doesn't.

Wii Warm Up: Is Sega right?

Jan 20th 2009 11:41AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I've never been a fan of Sega (Sonic the Hedgehog), but I love what they're doing now. They're really saving us Wii owners who are praying for core titles.

I'm actually currently playing Okami on Wii. I loves it.

That last post was supposed to be a reply to Azsro's post, but it didn't work for one reason or another.

Deadly Creatures developer 'back to minigames' if game doesn't sell

Well on the 360 or PS3 it would have done horribly no doubt, simply because there's not enough pints of human blood on screen at all times and there's a lack of bullets and chainsaws, but on the Wii it could swing two ways:

1. People dismiss the game as another failure without even trying it because they've declared the Wii as a casual system only and the game sells poorly.
or
2. The hardcore gamers that have been suffering through the drought (especially the holidays, what a horror they were) all buy it and find that it's actually a nice change of style or maybe not all that great, but at least they tried it out and encouraged game developers to make something other than ping pong or something.

Don't just dismiss it. Whine and moan about lack of hardcore titles on the Wii and then just skip out on them when they finally role around because you're not playing as a PERSON? What?

I hate how whenever people hear that the game is about a scorpion and tarantula they're like, "omg fail" because it doesn't involve shooting and a screen full of blood with people dropping the f-bomb around every corner. How do you expect the Wii's market for hardcore games to prosper (and thus produce, I don't know, MORE HARDCORE GAMES) if you don't take a chance and actually try them? People whine about how all the games that come out for Wii are casual or Metroid, Mario and Zelda, and then something original like Deadly Creatures or something like it comes along and people are like, "so how many hookers can we kill in this game?"

I hope that the game does well, because I'm throwing alot of my support behind it and I'm glad that there are some developers pushing to get more interesting titles out for the Wii that aren't all waggle and shake. No More Heroes was a victory for this type of game, and some people may say that de Blob was and maybe even World of Goo, so I'm pushing for Deadly Creatures to become one, too.
