Barricading 'Dead Souls' within Yakuza's red-light district

Feb 11th 2012 1:09PM (Joystiq)
Did anyone else think this article was about the logical sequel to Dark Souls when they started reading the title?

THQ receives stock delisting notice

Jan 31st 2012 11:34AM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified) THQ is a publisher, not a studio...
Anyway, that would mean no more PC Relic games. Unacceptable.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion warps in first screens

@SisypheanLife
No campaign, but the AI for skirmishes is very convincing, and has 6 difficulty settings and 3 play styles. One match on a large map could last as long as an entire campaign in other games.
I haven't dared to go online yet - although I play with housemate occasionally - but I still play the game daily.

Price: Insomniac is done with Resistance, Sony isn't

Jan 27th 2012 4:01PM (Joystiq)
@Slayer15 Retribution was developed by Bend and ended up pretty decent, as have the PSP Ratchet and Clank games. Sony's done a good job of maintaining Insomniac's franchises so far.

Co-op platformer Ibb and Obb takes both high and low roads to PSN in 2012

I think I need this soundtrack. Reminds me of Machinarium if it was played in lifts.

PS3 / Vita RPG 'Ruin' now called 'Warrior's Lair'

Jan 14th 2012 4:16AM (Joystiq)
Ruin was a way better name if you ask me, but I guess Warrior's Lair more immediately indicates what the game's about.

Sony confirms post-fungal-apocalypse title The Last of Us, due in 2012

That could easily be an old Drake. And the daughter's name, Ellie, is kinda familiar too.

Report: US Vita games will cost less digitally than at retail

Dec 5th 2011 1:31PM (Joystiq)
@PN04 It looks like Sony don't want to open up to 3rd party manufacturers, their flimsy excuse being that they "can ensure that all gamers are guaranteed the same performance since they can set the read/write speeds of the cards": http://www.atmaxplorer.com/2011/12/sony-defends-ps-vita-memory-card-pricing/

I won't be buying a Vita until this either proves not to be the case, or Sony's cards themselves are made a lot cheaper.

Report: US Vita games will cost less digitally than at retail

Dec 5th 2011 1:27PM (Joystiq)
@CoconutSkittle It would be nice if it worked like that, but it's already been said that some retail games will require memory cards.
Apparently some could need to install (which makes less than no sense), and (making even more negative sense) cards may also be required for save data and updates, even though the original spec said ~20% of the game cart space would be set aside for that.

Report: Vita limited to one PSN account per console

Dec 5th 2011 10:43AM (Joystiq)
@Dan50 It's region-free to the same extent as the PSP and PS3. Games still have region-specific versions, and you can play any game on physical media, but each PSN store has a different selection and with one account, you can only access one of those stores.
