Shoot Many Robots dev holding 'Control Scheme Throwdown' at PAX East

Mar 24th 2012 12:46AM (Joystiq)
I was happy with the reply I got from them on the forums from a dev;
Hi, Snappyguy! We tested twin-stick controls during development and felt that they didn’t work nearly as well as the control scheme we shipped with. In Shoot Many Robots, you do stuff other than moving and shooting (jumping, slamming, punching, drinking beer, reviving, switching weapons, hitting plungers, sliding, hanging in the air, oh my!) much more often than in most games that choose twin-stick controls.

It'll be nice to see how they work myself but I think I could just adapt to them.

The Daily Grind: Would you buy a system for one game?

Bought a PS3 for Little Big Planet. But I guess I also got it for the Blu Ray. Still the only game I've really enjoyed on there :) Too used to the xbox controls

This looks like it could be fun for coop. Any one have an idea of when it is out on PC and if it's on Steam? I don't care too much if its on steam, just makes it easy to gift to my friend.

Shoot Many Robots review: Robocalypse now

@baddates77 I haven't played it yet but I'm guessing X is Attack and A is jump. I can usually hit A while holding X with the midsection of my thumb.

Still some people might not be able to and it would sound a lot easier if it was Trigger to shoot Right Stick to aim.

With the steamworks, does that mean we will be able to trade weapons via Steam Trading?

It wouldn't be too bad. Some people would of course go get ridiculously strong weapons but since I play coop with friends I'd just use it for cool looking weapons :P

@Pilmer Awesome. I love that these games almost always get pad support. They are exactly the type of game I just want to sit back and play.

Report: Hydrophobia studio facing closure

I got this for about $1.50 from a daily deal and coupon on Steam because I heard people didn't like it that much so I thought I'd try it. It really wasn't that bad, I had fun with it.

Blizzard taking Valve to court over 'DOTA' trademark

I don't understand :s Wouldn't valve have had Dota first if they are making a game called dota 2?
