I know it sounds weird Mystic but it was just as weird to me. They told me they knew what my old e-mail address was and that they would fix the problem when they collected enough information. So I had to give EVERYTHING to this guy in India who would always respond "that is correct". They took my new address, my old address, my serial number, gamertag, old password (which I had to guess at and he responded "that is correct"), they even asked for my old phone number which I had to look up. After an hour of this he informed me after I had correctly answered everything that they could NOT help me. I don't think they guy really understood english at all or they just sat around giggle while they listened to me jump through hoops.
>"How were they able to know what your password was? That's not possible."
I don't know how they were able to know my password, maybe you should call them and try. I'll give you my old gamertag and I wish you luck. I didn't come here to spread lies, only my experience so no one else has to go through it. If you want my old gamertag I will post it here, but I will not post my personal information tied to that account. Hell I can even give you the date and time of the phone call. I also posted my complaint on Major Nelsons blog the same day....not sure if it's still there but I will go looking for that too.
Amazing how you have to "prove" yourself when you get screwed by a corporation. Next we won't be able to question politicians or lawyers.
Once again the mighty Dave opens his mouth and shows us how out of touch he really is. You really have to love the new "big-mouth" breed of developers that are all talk and no software.
This happened to me. I got a new ISP with reliable e-mail so that was the one I started using, plus my 360 was in for repair again so I never thought about where my account was tied to. A few months later when I tried to give MS money by renewing my Live account I found out that I couldn't because my gamertag was tied to a now expired e-mail. I couldn't remember the e-mail address it was tied to so I couldn't re-create it. I phoned MS who kept me on the phone for an hour (some guy in India who kept repeating "yes sir we can help you with this problem") and they collected all my personal info. I was even able to tell them the password to my old e-mail...which they confirmed, but they wouldn't tell me what the e-mail name was and they refused to fix the problem. After a few more phones calls and talking to some "managers" I was told to walk away from my 15K gamerscore and create a new e-mail address and a new gamertag because they couldn't figure out how to fix it. Needless to say I started buying multiplatform games for my PS3 instead and MS doesn't get Live cash from me anymore. Hopefully Sony doesn't screw up my account or I'll only be left with my Wii (and that would be sad).
