I wasn't going to leave a comment, because I assumed that someone else had already left a recommendation for G & G, but Whaaaaa......???? Nobody is here to extol the virtues of one of the top 10 platformers of all time!!!!!! For those of you with a modicum of patience, pick up this game and BEHOLD the beauty of one of the sterner tests of gaming yore! Aside from the fantastic gameplay, this game has some of the most beautiful game art and music of the 16-bit era, and I would argue it is the best. This game should not be forgotten, and now you all have a reason to find out why!
The idea of someone wearing one of these rings is funny, indeed, unless it's Crazy Ray or some other Super Fan that actually makes a living off of being a Super Fan.
However, something that would be a little more sane would be a ring awarded to the winner of the Madden Challenge or some huge online tournament. In all honesty, I would wear that to my wedding. Madden is serious competition and I would give real value to any trinket given to me for winning a Madden contest against thousands of hard-core Michael Vick's.
I had no idea the "hand-cramp" issue is well known now. I had to give up playing the DS Fat because it was giving me something that felt a lot like carpal tunnel. My hands would ache after playing for about 45 minutes and the ache wouldn't go away for hours. It's a class action waiting to happen!!!
I have never been to Japan, but I do know that japanese people are concerned about continuing their dominance in the various technology industries. They are a tiny country with NO monopolies on any resources or anything. Their technology companies had better succeed or they will be nothing. How could this not enter into their choice to buy Sony or Nintendo over Microsoft? If it doesn't they don't care about the economic well-being of their country. If that's true, that would truly be a bizarre characteristic of japanese people.
If their desire really is to get a foothold in the living room, they're doing a horrible job of it. The 360 is worthless as an "extender" without third party software to enable it, of which only about 1/10 of 360 users are aware (360 transcoder). Plus, what exactly is their goal? Making money in the living room is either about programming (MS doesn't have a production or game development studio that's worth #($%&), distribution (they don't own the cables or satellites) or end-user receiver clients (TVs/cable boxes/consoles/receivers). Their plan to "take over the living room" has nothing to do with the 360. It has to do with making it easy and attractive to make a windows computer into an all-encompassing entertainment machine that makes all your other boxes, including receivers, dvd players, etc. etc. obsolete. This isn't going to happen for the simple reason that people get more than enough of windows at work. Why the hell would they want to be forced to deal with it on their home TV. It would be like living in communist russia and seeing pictures of stalin or lenin on every spare wall. Nobody wants that.
Super C, Breath of Fire II, Ghouls'n Ghosts now on Wii VC
