Boooooooo, I prefer a system similar to Rift's, where there's no direct communications of any sort, but you can see the opposite's /say chat if near them at the time.
Obi-wan constantly conversed with his opponents while lightsaber dueling, playing mind games to throw them off their game. So did many Sith. I hope they rethink this decision.
How relevant, I just downloaded and signed up for LoL yesterday. Having no experience playing any DotA style games before, except a handful of the ported Starcraft 2 custom map version (Imperial something?), I found the tutorials and co-op vs AI modes to be extremely beneficial. And despite the harsh reputation the community has, I actually was grouped with some helpful players, who had no problems giving hints or useful directions, without attitudes of full of vile or disdain.
On a less than positive observation though, is holy cow it would take a lot of money to unlock all the characters. There's what, like 79 of them, at about $8 each to unlock? I'm guessing most people just stick with the free ones, or maybe a handful of their favorites to purchase.
At least most of you even had a server to attempt to log into, Spitescar's server cluster crashed 5 times by my count after attempting to start phase 2, with each requiring 15-30 minutes before they got it back up. Today showed me Trion's in way over their head now.
While I won't quit from this alone, the crummy UI for healing is slowly killing my desire to heal, and that will make me quit if not improved soon.
I sure wish EQ2 would do some server merges, I've tried coming back a couple times after the last two expansion releases, and despite the expansion buzz, the extremely low population of the Nektulos server has been the main factor preventing me from staying. I play MMO's to game with others, and without a healthy server population, the game is just not nearly as fun as it used to be.
Shame too, played EQ2 on and off since launch and had some great times, but I will most definitely not come back unless Nektulos is merged (and no I'm not paying $100+ to transfer my three main characters off).
