Nintendo's Kaigler: Hardcore Wii game sales could go long tail ... maybe
Jul 30th 2009 9:57AM (Joystiq)I can't believe the amount of un-fun people there are in the videogame industry. It's almost as if as soon as you bring money into the equation, any equation, all the freaks come out of the woodwork. And I don't mean the good kind of freaks. I mean boring nerd-drones.
But not even nerds, cos nerds are smart, as Milhous so succinctly pointed out to us all those years ago.
The adults who work at EB Games/Gamestop are even worse. Yikes!!!
Nintendo's Kaigler: Hardcore Wii game sales could go long tail ... maybe
Jul 30th 2009 9:42AM (Joystiq)It's almost like I've made it my fault that they weren't universally reviewed as "absolutely, positively, must-have" games (in which case I'd've bought both of them on release). Silly.
Meanwhile, I've got at least 6-7 games I haven't finished yet, and I just bought WSR and Tiger Woods 10.
So yes, I'm waiting until I see them in the bargain bin, too.
Thanks for the post . . . you summed up my feelings before I knew I had them.
Review: Wii Sports Resort
Jul 27th 2009 1:36PM (Joystiq)I would've rather had half the sports taken twice as far.
Or, barring that, gimme some downloadable content within the next 6 months, featuring expanded forms of the better games in WSR: swordplay, archery, frisbee, basketball (I actually really dig it, although I'd read some not-so-good things about it) . . . um . . . table tennis? Kinda hard to expand on that. Anyway, you get my point.
But, sadly, they won't do that, either.
For example, I would pay the price of a full, new game for, say, 50 new levels to the "tilt the balls into the holes" minigame in "Wii Fit". And I'm sure I'm not the only one. That was good fun.
I'm just disappointed that the potential of these (sometimes) great "tech demos" go more or less un-tapped.
