Viacom and Warner Bros are obviously agnostic to both Sony and MS, what surprises me is that Universal who is more aligned with MS/HD-DVD hasn't jumped right in. Obviously Sony, Fox and Disney will be staying right out of this since there aligned with Blu-Ray and wouldn't want to seem cooperating with the enemy.
Joystiq hands-on -- Resistance: Fall of Man
Oct 24th 2006 1:38PM (Joystiq)"I played Resistance at Digital Life last week but looking at the way the game is played with your backpedaling shooting at lots of these little spider guys and you're, you know, you're running around all crazy and rushing right up to these guys and going through these kind of concrete pike filled tunnels; that's it's own game.
Gears is just not that game. Gears is much more about hide and go kill and flanking your foe and dealing with the scenario that we've proposed of enemies bursting forth from beneath you all the time, and they really feel like drastically different games. So, I mean, to play fair and be honest, I think that there's plenty of room for both products."
Nice to see that even a game developer has more intelligence in him then to just flame the competition, like half the fanboys are in these blogs are doing.
Bungie optimistic about Halo movie's future
Oct 23rd 2006 1:11PM (Joystiq)I was thinking about this when i heard it and wondering who else is left and will be willing enough to gamble 200 million on it(although it might not be such a huge uncalculated risk its still a gamble). If two Studios had to partner up to take it up who else will be able to put in the dough. Firstly there is Disney who we can without a doubt scrap off, considering they are cutting down in this area and it is in no way up their alley. Next up is Paramount, now while they maybe huge they are in no way willing to fork out that much going it alone, most of there big blockbusters have been in partnership with someone else. Then comes Sony, while they have the finances i think the chances of this happening would be about the same as Bungie giving PS3 exclusive rights to the Halo franchise. To me the only viable option is Warner Bros, they are large enough, have the money/resources and are the ones most willing to gamble on this.
Did i forget anyone? What is everyone elses take on this?
