I always feel a bit perplexed when people go on about not liking a game's story, but then say they didn't even pay attention to the cutscenes (like in this article). So... what do you base your opinion on? The first 30 minutes of the game or something?

Good to see I'm not the only person who sees it like that. These JRPG columns are just tiring. Every week a new thing to complain about.

Damn, Joystiq sure has been harsh these days. Both this and FF13-2 got worse reviews here than mostly everywhere else.

I live in Portugal (in Lisbon) and I didn't even know we had these. I went to Spain this summer and clearly remember seeing one Gamestop store and being surprised as I didn't think they existed in Europe.

Awesome. I think this is actually the first time I see a post about the Alchemist of Arland series here on Joystiq, and this is the third game already. Anyway can't wait to get this. These games are a total joy to play.

I wish they'd release more Blue Toad games but it seems more and more unlikely, at least on the PS3.

Not really "don't really care", more like "are new to". It seems so basic it really comes off as "Your First RPG!"

Pretty much. It seems a lot more like someone that would appeal to people who don't really care for RPGs than people who enjoy Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, etc.

This game looks awfully WoW-ish.

So true. FF13-2, Soul Calibur 5 and Catherine all release in the same 10 day period, and at the same time there isn't a single worthwile game coming out in December or January. It's ridiculous.
