I agree wholeheartedly with Alexei. This post reads like a private journal entry of a tin-foil hat wearing hobo. I thought Cliffy's letter was well-crafted and a nice personal touch that tries to state their objectives, and let's you, the gamer, make a judgement as to whether they met them. Next-gen might be meaningless fluff, but a preface by the game designer in an instruction booklette is NOT a magic mirror showing the apocalyptic downfall of the gaming industry. A gaming system being handed free-of-charge to Diddy or Paris Hilton is far more a sign of that, but even then it's dust in the wind. Calm the frick down, and play some video games, James.
I haven't finished Episode One yet and I was worried some of the story would be spoiled by the commentary, so I'm saving it for the replay. I am interested in and excited for it, but unless there's some sort of disclaimer on screen saying "Enjoying the audio commentary will in no way spoil the storyline" then I'm hesitant to use it. I wonder if they've considered that.
Oh, I love me some Shenmue. I love me some Shenmue good! I remember how depressed I was when I learned it'd never be released on Dreamcast in the US. Sure, I bought the Xbox version but part of the allure of Shenmue was the journey that spanned multiple titles like the Suikoden series on PSX. I used my money cautiously and got all the collectibles I could find thinking that when I transferred them over to Shenmue II I'd be rewarded for them somehow...but since it was never released I'll never know, and my pristine save file was for naught. And now I'll never see the true ending to that enchanting saga...how depressing is that? Why didn't you jerks buy it!?
Hmm....maybe the Xbox 360 camping experience was too fresh in my mind but I got in line at 11:30pm...yesterday. #1 spot in line, same as for the PS3. I'll only be keeping one of the two, guess which?
Small gripe at best? There goes any last lingering thoughts I had about keeping one of my many preorders for myself. I control my entire home theater system with my Logitech 880, which will even control my Xbox 360. I had considered adding the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player for those movies not released on HD-DVD, but if I have to use a completely different remote for watching movies that idea is dead. This almost seems like a joke...are you sure this isn't like the time we thought the controllers wouldn't have rumble? Oh...wait.
I wonder how this will affect my stock. I figured at $.75 per share I could buy thousands of shares, and then hope that it climbs back up, breaking the dollar mark and I'd be stinking rich. In reality it's less like investing and more like gambling because who knows what lies in store for Atari? All I know is that Atari still has brand recognition, and the stock is dirt cheap.
@983 If you COULD care less that means you care. Thanks for caring about the news. I was worried that you would not be able to care less, which would of course mean that you did not care at all.
Ok, that "I love men" thing just confuses the hell out of me....I mean, I KNOW that's not the real Robert. But WHY? Why would that be the most pertinent thing the faker could think to say?
On to the real Robert. Inside you say? Welcome home, High Definition Wii, I've missed you.
