Dec 17th 2006 7:58AM (Joystiq)The 360 the cool console, what are you smoking. If anything the 360 is the geek box, if everyone wanted a shitbox 360 they would have sold 20 million by now and as we know it's hardly keeping pace with the OG shitbox.
Comparing the 360 with the PS2 is blasphemy, the 360 will never ever be even close to what the PS2 was and still is.
If any of you retards think that the PS3 will be failure then you're just brain dead. The PS3 will go on to sell 100,000,000, the Wii will shut down after a year or two and the 360 will be officially become the Dreamcast 2. The 360 has run it's course, it tried to be something it's not and it's not appealing to anyone other than halo geeks and Bill Gates wannabes.
High-def DVDs and the console wars
Dec 16th 2006 10:31AM (Joystiq)Blu-ray is going to win is just this simple, if you have a HDTV, a PS3 and you're going to buy a movie are you going to buy a dvd or a blu-ray disc for just $4.00 more. Whoever thinks that blu-ray won't catch on is just plain stupid. Even if only 20% of projected PS3 buyers buy blu-ray movies that will be more than enough to bury HD-DVD.
And I am a gamer and yes I'm interested in HD movies.

Nov 25th 2006 1:54PM (Joystiq)People are really underestimating the power of blu-ray you have to see it in action to believe it. The movies in full 1080p are incredible people are just totally blown away. To hear the amazement from non gamers for the games looking at all the small details that come to life with HD. Visual immersion is more important than physical inmersion and nintendo is going to learn that the hard way.
The PS3 is amazing and sony are genius to include blu-ray, wether it's used for games or movies it just very impresive to look at. I bought the PS3 just for gaming, but now I see it's just way more than that in one swoop the PS3 has taken over my living room.
