de Sequel

Jan 25th 2009 10:16AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Great name, great post.

Although I must admit that I usually DO want more of a good thing. I was very happy to read that they're working on a sequel to Boom Blox, that's for sure.

But in the grand scheme of things, a de blob sequel is probably a good thing, as it shows that a(n apparently) very unique game can be very commercially successful, if executed well. It might get more companies thinking outside of the proverbial box.

de Sequel

And that's what I'm afraid of, it being boring and repetitive.

(Just about) Everybody says it's great, and unique, and one of the best 3rd party Wii games out there, and it's been mentioned in everybody's top 5, or top 10 lists of '08 (not too hard to make a "top 10 wii games of the year" list, though, is it?), but this game just hasn't grabbed me. I've read reviews, even watched IGN's video review, and it just isn't doing it for me.

And now that I know that they're not waiting for my sale to make a sequel, I can just keep this one on the "maybe" pile . . . as in "maybe for 10 quid!".

Deadly Creatures infest North America February 9

So who's the spider and who's the scorpion?

Me? I would've picked Mickey Rourke as the scorpion and Mickey Rooney, if he's still alive, as the sheriff who can't shoot straight, and then let the hilarity ensue, and, eventually, engulf.

Oh, right: games. Yes, love 'em, thanks!

Compared to the inspired-by-some-kinda-higher-power genius that is Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine is flippin' 'orrible.

Wii Warm Up: To sport, or not to sport

Jan 14th 2009 11:06AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I haven't played it in a few weeks, actually, due to an onslaught of new game arrivals :D

But I still dig it. I dig all of the games in it, actually, and I would never consider selling it.

And now, in honor of this article, and accompanying thread, I'm going to play a little WiiSports baseball . . . whilst wearing my 2008 World Series Champions Philadelphia Phillies hoodie, of course. :D
