Xbox Ghostbusters multiplayer glitches to be busted this fall

Jun 24th 2010 10:29AM (Joystiq)
This was actually a fantastic game. Even if a third Ghostbusters movie never happened, I wouldn't be upset because this game essentially was Ghostbusters 3. I'd buy a sequel to it on day one if there ever was one.

Retail consensus has Kinect at $150

Jun 18th 2010 3:11PM (Joystiq)
Kinect is far less interesting to me than it was when it was still Natal. The only demo that impressed me was the Star Wars game, and I'd still have to try it before I laid down good money on it. If it were $50 to $75, I'd consider splurging on it. But $150 is honestly money I'd rather put towards a Nintendo 3DS.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock unveiled with trailer

Some cool songs there, but this looks far too gimmicky. Kids will eat it up, but I'll just stick with Rock Band 3.

Report: Rock Band 3 features keytar, 'Pro' mode

May 26th 2010 3:59PM (Joystiq)
All I know is that if they decide to support a keyboard in the game, they better have a patch for Beatles Rock Band to support it and some additional DLC to utilize it.

HEY JUDE. Make it happen, Harmonix.

LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez resigns

May 7th 2010 10:26AM (Joystiq)
Crazy times at the Presidio.

Seriosuly though, I hope this does bring about a change. Over the past years, the only "true" Lucasarts game we've gotten has been Force Unleashed. Everything else has been stuff published from other developers. Time for them to step it up and bring back the awesome Star Wars and adventure games that are sorely missed.

Rumor: Infinity Ward employees not leaving due to unpaid royalties, morale 'extremely low'

Mar 12th 2010 12:37PM (Joystiq)
Thanks a lot to Joystiq (and other press) for covering this. It is a lot of petty bickering, rumormongering, and drama. But people's livelihoods are at stake, and are so jeopardized because of the stupid moves of the Activision suits. It needs to be reported in this manner so that consumers can have all of the information available to them when deciding whether or not to buy products from such a scummy company.

Green Day: Rock Band releases June 8 worldwide

Mar 11th 2010 9:55AM (Joystiq)
I like Green Day. I love Rock Band. But there's just no way in hell I'm buying this. I'll rent it once and have some friends over, but with Rock Band 3 on the horizon this just seems like a waste of sixty bucks.

I wish Harmonix all the success in the world, they definitely deserve it. But I hope this sells like crap so they learn how to better focus their talents in the future.

I'd love a copy!

U2: We, too, want to be in our own music game

Oct 7th 2009 10:31AM (Joystiq)
On another note, I bet this is something Harmonix is really considering for future Rock Band titles.

It seems as if a lot of artists are now looking at how badly Neversoft recently screwed over the Kurt Cobain / Johnny Cash brands, and how well received the art style of the Beatles was handled by Harmonix. Bigger artists that carry some clout aren't going to want their avatars playing songs that aren't within their genre, nor are they going to want them played by generic avatars created by the end user.

Harmonix (and possibly Neversoft) have to be considering ways that they can import new characters and animations alongside DLC. When you download a song by a famous artist or band you haven't before, you also download their avatar and accompanying animation. It'll likely be seen as something they can monetize even further, as they can charge "premium" prices for "premium" tracks that come along with this additional content.
