The things to remember about Sony: 1) they suck at naming things, and b) (ironically) they are obsessed with branding. If it's anything other than PlayStation Motion Controller I'll be very surprised.
Never played sports games or skating games before, but the demo for Skate had me hooked. Downloaded it on a whim, and played it over and over and over. Ten minute demo, time runs out, quit and reload, another ten minutes... I spent hours at a time doing that. Apart from a few frustrating difficulty spikes (never did get the very last pro challenge) it's a magnificent game. Can't wait for the sequel.
Pain is utterly stupid and worthless and a complete waste of time.
I can't help loving it, though. It's stupid in a good way.
It's a great spectator game, too. I once played for ages with no fewer than three friends (one man and twop women, in their late 20s and early 30s) watching, shouting suggestions, and laughing and cringing at the appropriate moments.
Seriously, guys, it's ten bucks, maybe fifteen once the expansion hits PSN.
Reply to HELP_ME and anyone else with it stopping forever on the initial load screen when starting up the game:
I think there is a danger of the save games corrupting. I just went into the game data manager and deleted my most recent save and the game started up okay. I only lost about twenty minutes of gameplay, because I habitually make iterative saves. Just remember to save to a new slot now and then and if it happens to you you won't lose too much progress.
Has anyone had any joy streaming movies off an external networks hard drive? I was thinking about getting a big wired ethernet hard drive and plugging it into a combo wired/wireless switch/router. Would I have any luck getting the PS3 to find the files on the networked hard drive?
Considering how much these screens look like the previous games in the series, I am amazed that the game is only coming to x360 and PS3. I'm not seeing anything on here that the PS2 couldn't render...
